YEE-HONK! from Schmigadoon! We hear that’s what the say... 👀

Built from nods to classics like “Brigadoon,” “Oklahoma!,” and “The Music Man,” the show somehow manages to celebrate Golden Age musicals while also winking directly at everyone who’s ever survived tech week, quick changes, backstage cue panic, or a 32-bar dance break with a live mic.

Huge congratulations to the cast, crew, musicians, designers, A2s, wardrobe, stage management, and production teams behind Schmigadoon on Broadway. 🎭

We know behind every comedic beat and giant musical moment is a crew making organized chaos look easy.

Tag a theatre pal who would thrive in a magical town where everyone communicates exclusively through musical numbers.

Speaking of theatre… headed to ABTT Theatre Show this week? We’ll be at Stand B50📍 Come see the mics they use on the show in person 🎤

Wearability and workflow sit right alongside sound quality. Cable routing, mic placement, or quick swaps between transmitters aren’t extras, they’re part of our system solution.

You’ve been clear: audio performance is a given—but if a wearable mic slows you down, shifts mid-show, or pulls focus on stage, it’s not doing its job.

Since 2016, the conversations we’ve had with sound designers, A2s, and engineers at the ABTT: Association of British Theatre Technicians theatre show have directly influenced how we build our gear.

If you’ll be at ABTT Theatre Show🎭 join us on the show floor to see what’s changed this year—and what’s intentionally missing. 👀

Imagine forgetting you have a headset on during a long production day. 🤯

No ear fatigue. No pressure points or constant adjusting. No fighting your headset while trying to nail your cues.

That’s why details like weight distribution, secure fit, and swappable IEM options matter in live production.

Our CM-i series was designed so the weight sits behind the head instead of pressing down on it, helping reduce fatigue during long rehearsals, broadcasts, and show days.

And for engineers or production crews using their own in-ear monitors? Swap them in seamlessly with a click.

Small design decisions.
Big difference over a 10-hour day.

If you’re heading to ABTT Theatre Show in June, stop by STAND B50 and spend a few minutes trying out the Point Source Audio CM-i5.

We’re curious what headset detail makes the biggest difference for you during long shows:
comfort, weight, stability, or intelligibility? We want to know in the comments! 👇

Hats off to the The Fathers House - Vacaville Campus team who is laser focused on their stage and sound. 🧢👏

With early call times and a full day of mixing and producing for houses of worship, a lighter load makes a big difference.

Specifically, the team said they “Love the flexibility to use their own IEMs or the stock buds.”

With the CM-i5 comms headset, they’re getting:
✅ All-day wear without the ear fatigue.
✅ Interchangeable in-ears for personal fit.
✅ Lightweight comfort – even with glasses or hats.

For a broadcast or live production team, the CM-i5 headset means you hear clearly, can react quickly, and can work together to capture the moment live!

Headed to ABTT Theatre Show on June 3rd + 4th? 📍 Stop by STAND B50 to try the CM-i5 headset on yourself.

“There are different EMBRACE on-ear lavalier element and connector options?”

We’ve heard your questions and yes, there are multiple EMBRACE on-ear lavalier options for different use cases and connector types.

Theatre, public speaking and conferences, streaming, podcasting, singing… There’s an EMBRACE mic that will fit right in to your workflow.

Lavaliers are as unique and varied as their use cases.

When choosing a lavalier mic, ask:

How loud is the source?
How much detail do you need?
And how controlled is the environment?

Those three things will tell you exactly which Lavalier mic would work best for you.

If you’re miking strong vocals, the CO-8WL handles high SPL up to 136 dB without folding under powerful singers or live performance dynamics.

Need one lav to cover both speech and vocals? The GO-9WL gives you high sensitivity with high max SPL, which is why it works so well in theatre dialogue, houses of worship, and broadcast workflows where talent shifts constantly between speaking and singing.

And reliability matters too.

The CO2-8WL gives you dual elements in a single cable, so you can double mic talent instantly without doubling rigging time or changing the visual profile.

Then there’s environment.

If you’re fighting loud stages, reflective rooms, or setups with heavy potential for bleed, a cardioid lav like the CR-8L gives you strong isolation and more usable rejection before you ever touch EQ.

Capsule choice changes workflow just as much as it changes sound.

Podcasting changed when audiences started watching instead of just listening.

Traditional boom mics are made for vocals in the studio… where podcasting started. But once you start thinking about:
👉 camera framing
👉 movement
👉 multi-angle shots showing the mic
👉 fast setups
👉 cleaner look
…the list of what you need to get quality sound pickup starts expanding.

That’s why more podcasters and creators are moving to on-ear lavalier setups instead.

Rather than stylize a boom mic, or build the shot to help it blend in, an on-ear lavalier mic disappears on camera so the focus is on the conversation.

What you get? More consistent pickup, cleaner framing, and less hardware between the audience and the conversation.

Point Source Audio EMBRACE on-ear lavaliers were designed to conceal in seconds, move with you, and capture every moment consistently which means less fixing in post.

Better Hearing & Speech Month is a good moment to zoom out from the mix, and look at the room. 🎧

If you work in live sound, broadcast, or event production, the six World Health Organization (WHO)are worth building into your workflow:

1. Sound level below 100 dB
2. The sound level has to be actively monitored to ensure compliance with the limit of 100 dB
3. Venue acoustics and sound systems should be optimized for safe listening, so far as is reasonably practicable
4. Personal hearing protection should be available to audience members at the venue/event
5. A designated quiet zone or zones will allow audience members to rest their ears from high sound levels
6. Appropriate training and information about safe listening is needed and must be provided

👉 The goal isn’t lower energy. It’s controlled energy.

It’s about mixes that are full and dynamic, and keep your audience from walking out with ringing ears.

Better sound doesn’t need to be louder.
It needs to be intentional.
