The instrument isn’t mic’d... but she is. 👀

Classical violinist Sandy Cameron’s setup isn’t a workaround. It’s one use case the Point Source Audio EMBRACE on-ear lavalier line was designed for.

No clips. No hardware on the violin.

For strings, clipping to the body or tailpiece means visible hardware, more rigging decisions, and one more thing that can shift mid-performance.

The EO-8WL wearable mic sits on-ear for a cleaner rig, cleaner look, and simpler workflow, while maintaining consistent capture.

Special thanks to Sandy Cameron, Irene Kim, Randy Abrams, Tyson Lozensky, Coleman Beltrami, Niko Baur, and Arthur Grigoryan for sharing their incredible work. 👏👏👏

A mic that sounds great but won’t stay in place creates problems for everyone.

At Point Source Audio we’ve always believed there has to be a better way! Our engineering doesn’t stop at the capsule. We spend just as much time thinking through wearability and workflow as we do audio performance.

Mics have to fit real people.

Real people move. Costumes change. Hairstyles shift. No two faces are the same. The best capsule in the world can’t fix placement drifting.

Whether it’s a lavalier, headset, earmount, or comms headset, we design to not just sound great, but wear comfortably, position consistently, and deploy efficiently.

Great audio is expected. Making it easier to achieve is where our innovation begins.

Comms headset fatigue during summer? Let’s fix that. 🎧

If you’re running outdoor shows this summer in an earmuff-style headset, your gear is actively working against you, and your ears are paying for it by the hour. 🤕

The Point Source Audio CM-i5 is an in-ear comms headset that weighs less than one ounce. It secures with a neckband and in-ear monitors, sits cleanly with a hat and sunglasses, and doesn’t trap heat against your ears the way a traditional headset does.

All-day wearing comfort isn’t a luxury. It should be the standard. On a 12-hour festival day, it’s a real operational difference.

Full details at the link in bio.

Ever found yourself fighting with mic placement, wardrobe changes, or inconsistent dialogue from take to take?

An on-ear lavalier solves all of these problems.

EMBRACE on-ear lavaliers lock into position so your audio stays consistent through every take, even when talent moves.

That means:
✔️ fast setup
✔️ discreet placement
✔️ fewer retakes
✔️ less cleanup in post

Trusted by filmmakers, podcasters, and sound design pros worldwide who need dependable audio when the camera starts rolling.

Solving problems before they happen. ✅ That’s one reason sound engineers are reaching for dual-element headsets.

With two independent mic elements on one boom, you get:

👉 Built-in redundancy (Mic 1 ➜ Mic 2 instantly)
👉 Two separate wire paths
👉 Cleaner setup and storage with half the clutter
👉 Hybrid cardioid + omni options to shape tone for any voice or room

As audio engineer Mike Peña put it:
“Ever had a mic drop dead on you? Problem solved.”

When you’re working with live sound, you know:
Better to have it and not need it… than to need it and not have it.

On stage. On camera. 🎥🧑‍🩰

EMBRACE mics are consistently comfortable for talent, have reliable pickup, and move with the sound source. Which is also perfect for filmmaking. 🎥🎬

Cinematographer and Documentary Director Chris Kam has been taking his EO-7 on-ear lavalier around the globe. His experience?

“For interview scenes, the EMBRACE microphones allow me to get clean audio in a way that is easy to use and doesn’t stand out.”

Thanks for sharing Chris! We can’t wait to see this newest documentary. 💪

A twist on headsets? 🥨

The 360 degree bendable boom mic has been a staple from the early Point Source Audio days, and was actually the first product we ever launched.

The “unbreakable boom” can be twisted, shaped, and reshaped from one customized mic fitting to the next. 💪

Find it on our CO-6, CO-8, and CR-8, and CX-8 model headsets and earsets if this is the kind of flexibility you’re needing from your mic.

PRO TIP: Always bend at the boom arm; never grab at the element when shaping.

Show running a full production day? You need gear that keeps you light on your feet.

Shoutout to Jessica Isenhour AV, President of CJMedia for sharing a peek at her current show running setup featuring the Point Source Audio CM-i5 comms headset. Thank you, Jessica! 🙌

Here’s why the CM-i5 keeps coming up in theatre and live production circles:

👉 Under 1 oz. That’s it. You may genuinely forget it’s there. The in-ear design eliminates heavy clamp fatigue and features earbuds you can swap with your favorite custom in-ears.

🧢 Because it sits with a neckband, not on your head, you have the freedom of any hairstyle, hat, or earrings you’ve got going on.

🎤 The condenser mic on the CM-i5 is cardioid noise-cancelling, so calls to your crew stay clear even in a loud house.

YEE-HONK! from Schmigadoon! We hear that’s what the say... 👀

Built from nods to classics like “Brigadoon,” “Oklahoma!,” and “The Music Man,” the show somehow manages to celebrate Golden Age musicals while also winking directly at everyone who’s ever survived tech week, quick changes, backstage cue panic, or a 32-bar dance break with a live mic.

Huge congratulations to the cast, crew, musicians, designers, A2s, wardrobe, stage management, and production teams behind Schmigadoon on Broadway. 🎭

We know behind every comedic beat and giant musical moment is a crew making organized chaos look easy.

Tag a theatre pal who would thrive in a magical town where everyone communicates exclusively through musical numbers.

Wearability and workflow sit right alongside sound quality. Cable routing, mic placement, or quick swaps between transmitters aren’t extras, they’re part of our system solution.

You’ve been clear: audio performance is a given—but if a wearable mic slows you down, shifts mid-show, or pulls focus on stage, it’s not doing its job.

Since 2016, the conversations we’ve had with sound designers, A2s, and engineers at the ABTT: Association of British Theatre Technicians theatre show have directly influenced how we build our gear.

If you’ll be at ABTT Theatre Show🎭 join us on the show floor to see what’s changed this year—and what’s intentionally missing. 👀
