Vision & Imagination in Theory & Practice

This month we’re exploring poetry as something emotional, musical, playful, strange, rebellious, intimate, and deeply human.

From classical verse to spoken word, performance poetry, and hip-hop, we’ll explore how rhythm, imagery, sound, metaphor, and voice shape the way we experience language, and ourselves.

Why do certain lines stay with us for years?
Why does poetry keep resurfacing in moments of grief, love, longing, joy, revolution, heartbreak, and transformation?

LitNite is part salon, part community gathering, part creative experiment. It’s a space for conversation, curiosity, and shared exploration.

Some of our latest work for local Petaluma artist, Cat Alden! We took a more collaborative approach to our process for this project and did our first 2 Day Design Intensive. We dedicated 2 whole work days to solely working with Cat to create her entire brand identity, website, and print collateral. At the close of Day 2, Cat had a spot on visual identity, fully functioning website showcasing all of her work, and print collateral files for her to go out in the world and further spread her talent. If you're looking to establish a comprehensive brand with a swift turnaround time, a Design Intensive Day could be an ideal option for you!

Luba Lukova is a Bulgarian artist and designer who has made a significant impact on the world of graphic design. Born in 1943 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, Lukova studied art and design at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia before moving to the United States in 1991.

Lukova's work is characterized by its powerful and thought-provoking messages. Her designs often tackle complex social and political issues such as human rights, war, and the environment. She uses a minimalist style, focusing on simple but effective imagery to convey her ideas.

Check out our latest completed project: Healthy Petaluma! They engaged The Design Guild for branding, web design, print design, and copywriting services. We recommended changing the name of the Petaluma Health Care District to Healthy Petaluma District and Foundation, which better reflects their new focus on promoting health and well-being for all community members. The new name and visual identity also emphasizes the District's role in building partnerships and programs that benefit the community. Working closely with the District team to understand their vision and goals, and to develop a brand that communicates the outcomes of their work in the community was an extremely rewarding experience.
