💜 Some projects stay with us long after they're over.

This weekend, Heather had the privilege of attending the 5th Annual Cherish the Moments Walk in Flagstaff. After our team helped promote the event, it was incredibly rewarding to see it all come to life.

From caregivers and families to volunteers, vendors, board members, and community leaders, the morning was filled with compassion, connection, and hope. One of the highlights was witnessing Councilmember Khara House present a proclamation recognizing NAZADA and its mission, with Councilmember Anthony Garcia also in attendance to show his support.

At Cultural Sponge, we believe our work doesn't end when a website launches or a marketing campaign goes live.

We believe in showing up.

Whether it's attending events, volunteering, capturing photos, or experiencing the impact firsthand, being present helps us better understand our clients' missions and the communities they serve. We don't just create marketing—we become part of the story.

Thank you to the Northern Arizona Alzheimer's & Dementia Alliance (NAZADA) for trusting our team to help share your mission. It was an honor for Heather to represent Cultural Sponge at such a meaningful event, and congratulations on another successful Cherish the Moments Walk.

Every step taken this weekend helps provide respite care grants for caregivers across Northern Arizona—and that's something worth celebrating. 💜

🍺 TGIF! We just launched another website... and this one deserves a beer! 🍻

The Cultural Sponge team had an absolute blast designing the new Flagstaff Oktoberfest website!

Our goal wasn't just to build a website—it was to capture the energy, excitement, and personality of one of Northern Arizona's favorite fall festivals. From playful videos and bold visuals to interactive features, every page was designed to get visitors excited before they even arrive.

Explore live entertainment, food and beverage vendors, contests, family activities, FAQs, hotel partners, parking information, and everything you need to plan your Oktoberfest adventure - all wrapped into a fun, engaging online experience.

Take a look and let us know what you think!

Now if you'll excuse us, we think we've earned a giant pretzel and a cold beer. 🍺🥨 Happy Friday!

🎉 Website Launch! 🎶

We're excited to unveil the brand-new website for the Santa Monica Symphony Orchestra!

Inspired by the beauty of the Southern California coastline, the new site features a sophisticated coastal aesthetic with deep navy blues, warm sandy tones, and subtle ocean-inspired design elements that reflect the Symphony's home while keeping the focus on the music.

But this project wasn't just about creating a beautiful website—it was about building a better experience for patrons, musicians, and supporters alike. The new website includes:

🎼 An easy-to-use concert and events calendar
🎟️ Ticketing integrations
❤️ Online donation tools
📱 A responsive, mobile-friendly design
⚡ Streamlined navigation so visitors can quickly find concerts, auditions, volunteer opportunities, and ways to support the Symphony.

At Cultural Sponge, we love partnering with nonprofits and arts organizations to create websites that are both visually inspiring and strategically built to engage their communities.

Take a look at the finished website:

Thank you to the Santa Monica Symphony Orchestra for trusting us with your digital presence. We wish you an incredible upcoming season filled with beautiful music! 🎻🎺🎼

Yesterday, Heather had the privilege of spending the day in San Carlos, Arizona, meeting with several tribal departments on current and upcoming projects. In the middle of a busy workday, she was invited to witness something truly special.

Heather had the honor of watching the Apache Mountain Spirit Dancers perform inside the Tribal Council Chambers as they welcomed an Indigenous youth delegation from Taiwan representing five Indigenous tribes. According to the San Carlos Apache Tribe, this marked the first time the Apache Mountain Spirit Dancers performed inside the Tribal Council Chambers and the first visit by an international Indigenous youth delegation to the San Carlos Apache Reservation.

At Cultural Sponge, moments like these remind us why we’re honored to partner with tribal governments and organizations throughout Arizona. Every project is an opportunity to build relationships, listen, learn, and help tell meaningful stories while approaching every collaboration with respect for the communities we serve.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed Heather and made this experience possible. It is a moment we won’t soon forget.

This video was recorded and shared with permission. The audio has been intentionally muted out of respect for Apache cultural traditions.

🎉 Happy Mon-Slay! 🎉

💙 One of the greatest compliments after 18+ years in business is when clients come back for a website refresh. Even better? We've never lost touch. 🤝 Building long-term relationships has always been just as important to us as building great websites. 🌟

🚀 Today, we're excited to celebrate the launch of the newly redesigned website for Flagstaff Festival of Science. 🔬✨

We originally built their website more than five years ago, and it was time for a refresh. The new site features a modern, mobile-responsive design 📱💻 that makes it easy to explore festivals, educational programs, events, volunteer opportunities, donation options, and registration information.

🧪 The Flagstaff Festival of Science inspires curiosity through free science festivals, education programs, and community events year-round, and we're honored to continue supporting their mission. ❤️

As a returning client, they even received a little loyalty discount. 😊

🙏 Thank you to the Flagstaff Festival of Science team for trusting Cultural Sponge once again. We can't wait to see how the new website helps inspire the next generation of scientists, innovators, and lifelong learners! 🌎✨

Our new website is now optimized for mobile! Browse the Festival of Science experience straight from your phone or tablet. Haven't checked out our new website yet? Do it now! www.scifest.org

Happy 30th Anniversary to Community Church of Hope! 🎉✨

This weekend, we had the honor of celebrating 30 years of a truly special community rooted in acceptance, inclusion, and unwavering support — especially for the LGBTQIA+ community 🌈💛

Hearing the story of how the church was founded — and seeing how it continues to grow and evolve — was incredibly inspiring. Spaces like this matter, and the impact they’ve made over the years is undeniable.

It was also wonderful to be in the presence of leaders like Mayor Kate Gallego, Congressman Greg Stanton, and Senator Lela Alston, all recognizing the church’s impact 👏

We’re especially proud that Cultural Sponge had the opportunity to support Community Church of Hope with branding and website design in 2023 💻🎨 — helping amplify their mission and extend their reach.

We love partnering with organizations that lead with purpose and heart. 💛

Here’s to 30 years of community, love, and continued impact 🥂✨

Throwback Thursday has us reflecting… 🌈✨

This photo is from 2009 at OUTday PHX (hosted by Phoenix Pride) and AIDS Walk Phoenix (benefiting Aunt Rita's Foundation).

Back then, Cultural Sponge was brand new.

Our founder, Heather, had just experienced three job losses during the 2008 housing crisis. Cultural Sponge was started out of necessity — simply to survive.

What none of us expected was that LGBTQ+ organizations would be among the very first to say “yes” and place their trust in a brand-new business. 🌈🥰

That trust kept the lights on. 💡
And it shaped who we are.

From the very beginning, our work has centered nonprofits and underserved communities — not as a niche, not as a side project, but as the core of our mission.

We don’t just talk about supporting community.
We walk the walk. Literally. 👟

Standing in that street in 2009, there was no way to know Cultural Sponge would still be here 18 years later — still mission-driven, still rooted in purpose, still amplifying organizations that make a difference.

Throwback Thursday is a good reminder:

Purpose isn’t something you manufacture.
It’s something you grow into. 🌱

We are deeply grateful for every organization that trusted us then — and every one we partner with today. 🤍

Today Heather had the opportunity to tour the Phoenix Conservatory of Music (PCM)🎶✨

Heather learned the rich history of PCM and their powerful mission to provide youth with access to music through after-school programs, individual lessons, and just as importantly, a safe, welcoming space to learn, grow, and express themselves 🎼💛

PCM serves children and students of all ages and skill levels and is currently welcoming:

🎵 Students ready to explore music

🎵 Donors who believe in arts access and youth development

🎵 Organizations interested in meaningful, mutually beneficial partnerships 🤝

If you’re interested in learning more or would like to schedule a tour, reach out to PCM directly. This is a truly special organization making a lasting impact throughmusic 🎻🌟
