We are seeking a highly skilled IT Administrator to manage and maintain all aspects of county government technology infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring secure, reliable, and efficient operation of networks, systems, software, and user services across multiple departments and facilities. The position requires both strategic planning and hands-on technical work, supporting courthouse operations, law enforcement, and other agencies.

Key Responsibilities
Network & Infrastructure Management
Administer and maintain domain controllers, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
Manage firewalls (FortiGate), switches, VLANs, VPN connections, and wireless networks (UniFi).
Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot servers (Windows Server, TrueNAS storage, VMs, etc.).
Oversee network security, access controls, and entry points with electronic code access systems.
Systems Administration
Manage Office 365, email firewall, and user accounts (creation, termination, shared mailboxes, licenses).
Configure and maintain software applications used across departments.
Implement and oversee 2FA and security policies.
Maintain printing services and related device connections.
Data Management & Backups
Oversee data retention and compliance with state and federal requirements (e.g., ORC retention policies, HIPAA).
Manage file storage systems, datasets, and ACLs on TrueNAS.
Maintain and test backup/restore solutions (local and remote replication, rsync/robocopy, iSCSI, etc.).
User & Departmental Support
Provide technical support for phones, computers, and remote work setups.
Train and educate users on security best practices, phishing awareness, and proper IT use.
Work with courthouse and sheriff’s department staff on specialized needs (judicial devices, law enforcement applications, etc.).
Hardware & Procurement
Configure and maintain IT hardware (servers, endpoints, networking gear, security systems).
Inventory hardware and software assets across departments. • Assist with budget planning, vendor management, and joint ventures for technology projects.
Special Projects
Manage websites and social media platforms for county offices.
Collaborate with external vendors (e.g., Intellinet Tech) for major infrastructure upgrades.
Draft policies, proposals, and memos for IT governance and compliance.
Oversee camera systems, security infrastructure, and departmental network expansions.

Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
Experience with firewalls, VPNs, VLANs, and advanced networking.
Hands-on expertise with TrueNAS or other enterprise storage systems.
Proficiency in Office 365 administration and cloud service management.
Familiarity with compliance requirements (HIPAA, ORC, SBITA, GASB).
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
Excellent communication skills for working across departments and with external vendors.

Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or other virtualization platforms.
Scripting/automation with PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
Familiarity with public sector IT governance and procurement processes.
Experience with cybersecurity frameworks and risk assessments.

Work Environment
Based in the county courthouse and supporting multiple government facilities.
Requires hands-on work with networking hardware, servers, and end-user devices.
Occasional after-hours or on-call work for critical issues, outages, or security issues
