Back in 2017, my grandma bought me a wax seal kit out of a magnolia magazine (which, at the time, she also paid for my subscription to). I thought it was the coolest most unique thing ever… although I clearly had no idea what I was doing at first LOL
My grandma and I always shared a love for crafting, gifting, and being intentional with the little things like mailing someone a thank you card. There was something about wax seals that made those little gestures feel even more personal and I just fell in love with that.
Over the years, she would buy me new stamps to add to my collection and somewhere along the way, wax seals became a part of what my friends knew me for. If you got a card from me, you knew there was probably a wax seal on the back 🤭
So when it came time to design my wedding stationery, I knew wax seals had to be apart of it. It was a little ode to my grandma, but it also felt like an ode to me.
And now, fast forward to 2026….
That little wax seal kit my grandma bought me almost a decade ago has somehow found its way into something much bigger. I’ve created “Love Letters”, a wedding stationery studio within Brittany Altman Designs, where I get to take that same love for thoughtful details and turn it into pieces that help others.
From struggling to melt my first wax seal at my little art station in my childhood bedroom to creating dozens of them for the most meaningful day of my life — and now for other people.
I think 2017 me would be very proud.
But more than anything, I hope my grandma knows that a little piece of her is in every single one 🤎
