Heinz Internet of Things Club

Heinz Internet of Things Club Internet of Things Club at Heinz College, Carnegie Mellon University The club activities cycle is intended to support our main goal.

The Internet of Things (IoT) club was created as part of a corporate partnership with Dell to enrich students’ learning experience at Heinz College by providing educational and career-oriented opportunities focusing on IoT and Connected Systems. We want to achieve this goal by creating synergies between students and referents in the industry and academia. For that, members will participate in even

ts such as: information sessions, to prepare them on the basics of IoT and industries with high potential to leverage connected systems; hands-on workshops, to get a basic technical foundation to build projects with devices ideated to start on IoT (eg: Dragonboard, Arduino); and hackathons, to put their learnings to work by proposing ideas and prototypes to leverage IoT solutions for different industry challenges, while getting exposure by presenting them to a jury composed by industry experts. Club members will also be encouraged to participate on conferences with a focus on IoT, to get opportunities to connect with leading companies providing IoT solutions; as well as to pursue research in different areas of interest related to these systems such as security and privacy as well as analytics with IoT data.
