Our partnerships with schools are ultimately about the people and communities behind them.

That's one of the reasons the Ron Main Scholarship for Education and Innovation means so much to us. Each year, it gives Questeq the opportunity to celebrate graduating seniors from our partner districts and support them as they take their next steps beyond high school.

Supporting our employees means celebrating and investing in the people who matter to them the most.

This year, we're proud to recognize Kara Shidemantle and Emily Barker as recipients of the Ron Foster Memorial Technology Award, which honors Ron's legacy while supporting the educational goals of Questeq employees' children.

Kara, daughter of Rob Shidemantle, Infrastructure Engineer at Butler Area School District, is a student at Slippery Rock University. In her essay, she explored the intersection of technology and social work, sharing how thoughtfully applied technology can reduce administrative burdens, address bias, and give professionals more capacity to focus on the people they serve.

Emily, daughter of Eric Barker, Technology Manager at Leechburg Area School District, will begin her freshman year at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she plans to pursue nursing. Her essay looked at technology's role in helping healthcare professionals overcome communication barriers, improve access to information, and create more time for meaningful patient care.

Different career paths, but a shared idea: technology is at its best when it helps people better serve others.

Congratulations, Kara and Emily! We're proud to support you as you continue your education and look forward to seeing where your paths take you.

About the Award
This award honors the memory of Ron Foster, a valued friend and longtime member of the Questeq team who passed away in September 2021. As a Systems Engineer, Ron shared Questeq's commitment to helping schools succeed through technology and made a lasting impact on the people and communities he served. The award carries Ron's legacy forward by supporting the educational goals of Questeq employees' children.

We're excited to welcome Adam Swinchock to Questeq as our new Sr. Director of Operations for Western Pennsylvania.

After more than 20 years serving K-12 schools, Adam joins Questeq with a leadership style rooted in partnership, trust, and a genuine commitment to helping educators succeed through reliable technology.

As Sr. Director of Operations, Adam will work closely with Questeq teams and our customer districts to support strong technology operations, foster lasting relationships, and help ensure every district continues to receive the consistent, high-quality support they've come to expect from Questeq.

Questeq COO Jason King has worked alongside Adam for more than a decade and has seen firsthand the leadership he'll bring to our team. Jason shared, "We are thrilled to bring Adam's leadership, insight, and shared commitment to educational technology to the Questeq leadership team."

For the past 25 years, Mike Miller has been one of those people.

From the NOC to customer sites across our portfolio, Mike has built a reputation for rolling up his sleeves, solving problems, and stepping in wherever support was needed. Along the way, he has helped schools, businesses, and communities navigate technology through decades of change.

Today, Mike provides leadership and support to the teams at Parkway West Career & Technology Center and Beaver County Career & Technology Center, continuing a career defined by service and commitment.

This past weekend, employees and their families from across Questeq gathered at Seven Springs Mountain Resort for our biennial company picnic. It was a chance to reconnect, celebrate, and recognize the incredible people who make Questeq such a great place to work and serve our customers.

The weekend kicked off with a Friday night bonfire, followed by a little friendly competition in our co****le tournament on Saturday. That evening, we came together for dinner to recognize employee milestones and years of service before wrapping up the weekend with breakfast on Sunday morning.

Events like these remind us that Questeq is more than the work we do. It's the people who make it possible.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and thank you to every member of the Questeq team for your hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving our customers every day. We appreciate all that you do and are proud to celebrate you.

Some of the most important work in education happens behind the scenes.

For Mike Fronk, that work has been part of his connection to Big Spring School District for many years. After supporting the district before Questeq's partnership began, Mike continued that commitment as an Infrastructure Engineer and recently celebrated 10 years with Questeq.

Over the years, he has helped the district evolve alongside the rapid pace of technology. One project he's especially proud of involved bringing fiber connectivity to two elementary schools, a multi-year effort that required creativity, persistence, and teamwork to bring to life.

The work may happen behind the scenes, but its impact is felt throughout the district every day.
