Attention gamers and customers using gaming computers which have RGB software:

If you use any hardware monitoring software, your antivirus may have recently warned you about a file on your computer called “WinRing0x64.sys.” This is a driver used by a lot of 3rd party, open-source, monitoring applications like HWInfo and FanControl. A fix is being worked on, but until such time, it is really best to uninstall any software that might be using it. Without getting too far into the technical weeds, any software that uses WinRing0 is a massive security risk. Malicious actors able to execute code using it could do anything they wanted, from reading encrypted passwords to destroying your computer. And there have been real world exploits that have used it in the past.

If you’ve never heard of those applications, you are probably fine. Gamers and power-users are the main demographic of people who would seek out and install those pieces of software.
