One month before their wedding, Shuan and Jack’s entire plan changed👇

“My father suffered a stroke and we threw out my carefully curated schedule… including finalizing our ceremony and writing our vows… so we could focus on my family.”

They’d planned to exchange private vows, but between hospital visits and emotional exhaustion, “we just ran out of time figuring out when we’d fit it in—or how the structure of the ceremony would go without our vows.”

With just 3 days left—and an officiant who had never officiated a wedding before—they turned to Provenance.

“It helped us figure out the flow, avoid sounding generic, and made it so we basically had our whole ceremony planned out in an hour.”

They incorporated a Unity Ceremony. They cried while writing their vows. Their guests told them their words were “some of the most precious and intimate they’ve ever heard.”

And most importantly, Shuan’s father was able to attend and witness it all. 💛

🪄 Here’s a magical, unique touch that Anita & James added to their Cancun ceremony👇

“When our officiant asked for the wedding rings, James’ Grandpa’s face lit up - he had them all along! We had hidden them in the crowd with him, and in that moment, he realized he got to play a special role in our ceremony.

It was especially meaningful because I had just met him in person for the first time that weekend. Seeing his joy as he brought them to us made the moment even more unforgettable” - Anita 💍 💗

Brooke and Ryan’s Missouri winter wedding had so many beautiful details.

“We did a champagne toast in our ceremony, but Ryan doesn’t drink so he had a can of Starry - it was a funny moment and a great ad for Starry 😂

We included a reading from a book called Le Petit Prince that we read in French class in high school, as a throwback to when Ryan and I were just flirting! He was always bad at French, and still makes me laugh when he tries to speak it.

Provenance helped create such a unique and special ceremony (and vows!) that was personalized to me and my husband. I’m SO proud of how it turned out.” - Brooke ( )

With 2024 coming to a close, it’s time to look back on the most popular wedding readings of the year.

With over 600 passages, song lyrics, quotes, and poems in the Provenance library of readings and rituals, these 5 readings were featured in the most weddings out of the 100K+ on Provenance.

From Mark Twain to bible verses, 2024 couples experimented with both nontraditional and traditional ways of adding meaning and symbolism to their wedding days.

As asking wedding guests (or your officiant) to perform a reading at your ceremony continues to be a wedding trend, we look forward to seeing what 2025 brides and grooms choose for their special days.

Here are 3 short, non-religious wedding readings that we can’t stop thinking about.

Adding a quote, passage, lyric, or poem to your ceremony is one of the top wedding trends for 2025 brides thus far, and for good reason! They add so much beauty and symbolism to your wedding day, and let you ask a guest to participate.

And there are so many nontraditional options, but here are 3 we’ve loved lately, that fit perfectly into any officiant script or vows.
