It was a privilege connecting with the electric utility community at the Edison Electric Institute's Spring 2026 TDM&MA conference.

We came to with a simple goal: to show how KYRO AI bridges the gap between utilities, contractors, linemen, and capital providers. Between the deep-dive product demos and the high-energy sports trivia, the conversations we had confirmed one thing. This industry is ready for a more connected future led by KYRO AI.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to talk shop and congratulations to our trivia winners who walked away with a new KYRO hat.

Being a lineman is tough, dangerous work. With a fatality rate nearly 4x higher than the national average, safety can't take a back seat.

Keeping crews safe in 2026 means focusing on the basics and using the right tools. Our latest guide breaks down the four core areas of lineman safety:

🛡️ PPE: Inspecting gear daily and testing rubber gloves regularly.
🛑 Protocols: Enforcing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and grounding rules.
📚 Training: Keeping up with annual high-voltage refreshers.
📱 Tech: Using platforms like KYRO AI to make sure only certified, pre-vetted crews are matched to high-risk jobs.

When a storm clears, the real race begins. The first 12 hours can either set your restoration efforts up for success or cost you millions in operational delays.

For utilities and contractors, relying on manual spreadsheets and phone trees to mobilize crews isn't just slow—it's incredibly expensive. Every hour lost trying to build a roster means higher customer compensation claims and a hit to community trust.

In a recent article for T&D World, Hari Vasudevan, Founder and CEO of KYRO AI highlights how modern technology is reshaping storm recovery.

When severe weather strikes, manual tracking slows down power restoration and drives up recovery costs. Using smart platforms to instantly match the right crews to the hardest-hit areas helps utilities work faster, reduce waste, and ultimately protect ratepayers from rising bills.

Hardened assets are only as strong as the space around them. ⚡🌲

Grid hardening (the "hardware") and Utility Vegetation Management (the "defense") are often treated as separate budgets. But in 2026, they are a single strategy.

When you coordinate these two pillars, the results speak for themselves:
✅ Fewer outages per km/year.
✅ Drastic improvements in SAIDI and SAIFI metrics.
✅ Reduced secondary damage during storm restoration.

Preparation is what determines the restoration. 🌩️

With weather disasters now costing billions each year, storm readiness isn't just about flipping switches; it's about the data you track before the wind picks up.

We analyzed the top 8 metrics used by North American Electric Reliability Corporation ( ), U.S. Department of Energy ( ), and FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency to measure utility resilience. From SAIDI (how long power is out) to ACI (the Health Check for the Grid), these numbers define your grid's survival score.

💡 Swipe through to see the 8 metrics you need to be tracking.

Thank you to for highlighting KYRO AI’s role as the only Texas‑based technology company in Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI)'s Open Power AI Consortium.

The article explores how KYRO’s field‑tested software helps utilities modernize storm response, construction management, and vegetation management in the age of AI.

It also captures a reality many in the sector are feeling: the grid’s “check engine light is on,” as Exelon CEO Calvin Butler put it, with , data centers, and electrification driving the fastest load growth in decades, and why field‑tested AI has to be part of the reliability solution, not just the demand problem.
