“We’ll organize it later.”

Later has entered the chat. 😂

This is what happens when network infrastructure gets modified over and over without a plan for cable management.

Every individual cable probably had a reason for being there.

Together? Absolute chaos.

A well-designed cabling system should account for today's needs and tomorrow's growth.

Because the goal isn't just to get the cable from Point A to Point B.

It's to build an infrastructure that someone can actually understand, maintain, troubleshoot, and expand.

Clean cabling isn't just satisfying. It's smart infrastructure.

Is your network ready for your company’s next 100 employees?

Company growth usually means more than just hiring people.

It means more computers.
More phones.
More access points.
More cameras.
More network connections.
And eventually… more demands on your infrastructure.

Before your company starts expanding, it’s worth asking a few questions:

🔹 Do you have enough network drops?
Adding employees and devices can quickly consume available connections.

🔹 Is your cabling properly labeled and documented?
Good documentation can save your IT team hours when troubleshooting or making changes.

🔹 Does your IT room have room to grow?
Rack space, patch panels, cable management, power, and pathways should all be considered before they become limitations.

🔹 Is your existing cabling up to the task?
Older or improperly installed cabling can become a problem as network speeds and technology requirements increase.

🔹 Are you planning for future growth?
The best infrastructure isn't designed only for what you need today. It should give you room to grow tomorrow.

A network upgrade doesn't always mean replacing everything.

Sometimes, a simple assessment of your existing infrastructure can identify potential problems before they become expensive ones.

Build for today. Plan for tomorrow.

JabberComm helps businesses build structured cabling and network infrastructure designed to support where they're going — not just where they are today.

One wrong step can turn a simple cable run into a major repair.

During a recent project in Florida, we were called in after a technician fell through a ceiling while attempting to run cable.

Thankfully, no one was injured, but the damage was a reminder of how important proper planning, training, and safety practices are in our industry.

Running network cable isn’t just about pulling wire from one location to another. It requires understanding the building, identifying safe pathways, and using the right approach before the work begins.

A few things that help prevent situations like this:

✅ Inspecting the work area before starting
✅ Knowing what’s above the ceiling
✅ Planning cable routes ahead of time
✅ Using proper access equipment
✅ Having experienced technicians on the job

At JabberComm, we take pride in doing the job safely, correctly, and with respect for our customers’ facilities.

Because a good installation shouldn’t create problems. It should solve them.

Sometimes the smallest projects make the biggest day-to-day impact.

This rack cleanup in Lake City, Florida turned a difficult-to-manage setup into a clean, organized infrastructure that’s easier to service, troubleshoot, and expand in the future.

Good cable management isn’t just cosmetic:
• Faster troubleshooting
• Easier equipment swaps
• Improved airflow
• Cleaner documentation
• Better long-term reliability

A well-built network should make life easier for the people supporting it after the install is complete.

Not every project is about permanent infrastructure, sometimes it’s about finding the right temporary solution without cutting corners.

We recently completed a Starlink install for a client in Indiana who needed reliable connectivity fast, but with one major constraint: no roof or wall penetrations.

Instead of forcing a standard install, we built a non-penetrating roof-mounted sled system. This allowed us to:

• Keep the building envelope fully intact
• Provide a stable, secure mounting solution
• Deliver immediate connectivity while they plan for long-term service

Situations like this are where problem-solving matters more than the equipment itself. Anyone can install hardware the value comes from adapting to real-world constraints and still delivering a clean, reliable result.

Temporary doesn’t have to mean sloppy.

Structured Cabling Shouldn’t Be an Afterthought

On many projects, low voltage is one of the last trades brought in.

By that point:

• Walls are closed up
• Pathways are limited
• IDF/MDF locations are already decided
• Timelines are tight

At that stage, the job becomes about working around constraints instead of building the system the right way from the start.

The result?

• Limited scalability
• Inefficient cable routing
• Higher install costs
• More change orders
• Rework that could have been avoided entirely

Structured cabling impacts everything, from Wi-Fi performance to security systems to day-to-day operations.

When it’s planned early in the project, you get:
✔️ Proper pathway design
✔️ Strategic equipment room placement
✔️ Room for future growth
✔️ A cleaner, more efficient install overall

It’s not just about running cable; it’s about coordinating with the entire build.

The earlier structured cabling is part of the conversation, the smoother the project goes for everyone involved.

Structured cabling is one of the most overlooked parts of a building’s infrastructure, until something stops working.

Over time, we’ve seen a pattern of the same issues showing up across offices, retail spaces, and new builds:

• No labeling — making even simple troubleshooting take far longer than it should
• Poor cable management — leading to cluttered racks and unnecessary risk of damage
• Unsupported cabling — especially above ceilings, creating both performance and safety concerns
• No testing or certification — leaving performance up to chance
• No planning for growth — forcing costly rework when the business expands

None of these problems show up on day one.

But over time, they create downtime, frustration, and added costs that could have been avoided.

Structured cabling isn’t just about getting devices online, it’s about building a system that is organized, scalable, and reliable for years to come.

When it’s done right, you don’t think about it.
When it’s done wrong, it affects everything.

If you’re planning a new space or upgrading an existing one, it’s worth taking the time to get the foundation right.
