Alpha Antenna US Based Alpha Antenna for VHF UHF HF Base Portable Mobile, MagLoop, Dipole, Vertical, Yagi, End-fed

We do appreciate your pride in the custom Alpha Antenna systems that we provide the amateur radio community. As the owner of Alpha Antenna and the Amateur Radio Store, I was first licensed in 1979 as a teenager. For decades, I operated just a TenTec Century 21, which is a CW only rig. Amateur Radio kept me out of trouble as a youth, and taught me that hams are the best people you could ever know.

In 2003, after being struck head-on by a semi-truck, amateur radio once again became my refuge where I was able to operate from during my year long rehabilitation and recovery. In 2005 my eyes were opened to a need, a personal need to give back to the amateur radio community for being there for me in my teenage years and during my recovery of 2003 & 2004. This is why I developed the Alpha Antenna systems, which employees those who have fallen on hard-times, and that provides purpose before profits.

We were asked about our old MagLoop's LED Tuning Indicator.
Summarily; It used power from the antenna to light up. Without a LED that connects to the capacitor, more energy is radiated, improving antenna efficiency.

- In 2014 (per the attached 2014 video) Alpha Antenna offered a built-in tuning aid that would light up at approximately 5 Watts when the loop was tuned. We removed the LED, which activated at about 5 W, because it diverted power from transmission.

- Note that anodized aluminum has a thin insulating oxide layer, which increases surface resistance and reduces RF efficiency on a MagLoops outer loop. Although Alpha Antenna used non-anodized aluminum, we transitioned the outer loop to Times Microwave LMR400 for a more effective solution.

Fast Forward to 2 Minutes in this 2014 Video:

A Blast from the Past! 6-40M mobile since 2011
November 27, 2011 - by K7AMB
I’ve been hesitant to get into HF mobile for a quite a while due to the can-o-worms that it can be – plus a big, obnoxious screwdriver antenna just wasn’t my cup of tea on my truck. A friend recommended the Alpha Moto and I’m real glad he did. It was quite an easy install and it performs great paired with my FT-857 and LDG tuner. Bottom line -> its a fair priced multi-band mobile HF antenna that performs very well and keeps you from looking like a mad scientist rolling down the road.
