This is a design inspired by the mighty Aztec god of night and sorcery, Tezcatlipoca.
He is also described as the smoking mirror and was one of the most important gods to the Aztec people. Tezcatlipoca played many contradictory roles in Aztec mythology and, like many ancient deities, could be helpful when pleased and destructive when angered.

Tezcat was created using the typeface Bauhaus 93, his body being made up of manipulated letterforms. He sits against an overcast greying sky inside of a black frame, furthering the theme of smoke and mirrors.
