A new weekly Dungeons & Dragons group is getting started at Anime Kat.

The campaign takes place in our DM’s homebrew world and uses the current D&D 5th Edition rules. Characters start at level 2, but you don’t need to already have one made to join.

The group meets Saturdays from 2pm-5pm. New players are welcome as long as there’s room at the table, so check with us if you’re interested in joining.

The table fee is $5 per session, with $3 returned as Anime Kat store credit.

If you’ve been wanting to try D&D, or you’ve been looking for a new regular campaign, this is a good time to jump in.

Before we opened this morning, Anime Kat hosted October’s Squatchcon Comic & Arts Convention committee meeting. 👣

One thing we spent time on today was the convention map. We’re working out where everything will go across the fairgrounds and how people will move between the different spaces.

It’s not the most visible part of planning Squatchcon, but the layout affects a lot of what comes after it.

Anime Kat is proud to sponsor Squatchcon and provide a place for the committee to meet while we work on next year’s convention.

Yesterday we got our first look at Riftbound: Radiance with a Pre-Rift event at Anime Kat.

Riftbound is a trading card game set in the world of League of Legends, and Pre-Rift is its version of a prerelease. Players got a kit of new Radiance cards and had to build their deck on the spot before the games began.

That meant nobody came in with a perfected deck or weeks of practice with the new set. Everyone was discovering Radiance at the same time and learning what the new cards could do once they hit the table.

Thanks to everyone who came out and helped make the night a good one. You can join us weekly for open Riftbound play on Tuesdays

Anime Kat’s October window is up for the Downtown Port Angeles Waterfront District Window Display Contest.

Our display mixes horror manga, creepy games, potions, bones, brains, ravens, and a few things that are probably better left unidentified. There are a lot of small details tucked into the window, so if you’re downtown, take a closer look.

Voting is unrestricted, and the Waterfront District is encouraging people to vote early and vote often. So if Anime Kat is your pick, you can vote for us more than once between now and midnight on Halloween.

The winner takes the People’s Choice Award, a trophy, and bragging rights. Vote here: https://shorturl.at/2BTRe

Thanks to everyone who came out Saturday for our Star Wars: Unlimited Homeworlds Prerelease.

Star Wars: Unlimited is a competitive trading card game where players build decks around Star Wars leaders, units, and events, then battle one-on-one.

Homeworlds hit the tables a little early for prerelease, giving everyone their first chance to play with the new set before release.
Our regular Star Wars: Unlimited games continue Wednesdays from 6pm-8pm at Anime Kat.

More Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration arrives tomorrow.

The next part of the release includes:
Booster Bundles
Mini Tins

Just like the first 30th Celebration release, these are being delivered to us on release day, so we’ll be waiting for UPS tomorrow morning.

To give the shipment time to arrive and get everything received and ready for sale, Booster Bundles and Mini Tins will go on sale at Anime Kat at 3:00 PM Friday, October 2.

See you at 3pm!

I had a great time at United Way of Clallam County's Celebrate United campaign kickoff the other day.

Anime Kat was invited after participating in their Find Dolly event earlier this summer. I wanted us involved in Find Dolly, because of Dolly Parton’s work getting books into kids’ hands. I’ve always believed manga can be a gateway into reading for someone who might not otherwise pick up a book.

Literacy was also the focus of this year’s United Way campaign kickoff. Since I can’t attend a book-themed fundraiser without coming home with more books; I managed to bid and win the Dungeon Crawler Carl basket in the silent auction.

Thanks to United Way of Clallam County for inviting Anime Kat to be part of Find Dolly and for the work you're doing in Clallam County.

Thanks to everyone who joined us at Studio Bob last night for Hook!

Anime Kat was happy to sponsor September’s Fourth Friday Film, which meant that 100% of the donations at the door went to the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula.

It was a lot of fun seeing Hook on the big screen again (yes, I'm in my 40s) with a room full of people, and I thank Studio Bob for giving us the opportunity to be part of it.

Thanks to everyone who came out, donated, and spent Friday night in Neverland with us. Bangarang!
