Sidequested so hard we ended up modeling in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

We were at ‘s retreat, educating some phenomenal and gorgeous ladies with incredible talent and the sweetest personalities on website design and copyrighting.

Ended up being models for a cozy cabin morning couples shoot.

Life has been so good to us and we’re so grateful for the opportunity to meet such driven, kind and intelligent women working so hard on their businesses.

And, of course, a huge shoutout and thank you to Rachel for having us with her and for doing so much in the education space.

Nothing like a fresh website hot off the press (digitally, ya know. So, it’s kind of more like getting a new computer with nothing special installed and opening a fresh browser window and it’s like “wow! it’s all fresh and clean!” Yeah, more like that)

What’s inspiring about Brittany and Ryan is how well they know themselves. They don’t want to come across as sale-sy. They want people to know they are real people, they are professional but friendly and they are completely focused on ensuring their clients are present for their day.

So the fonts and friendly and readable without being boring. The layouts are simple and clear, without feeling out of date. The copy is simple and straightforward with a strong emotional undertone.

Let’s be real, we’re all here to look at the VERY pretty pictures Chayse has made. It’s my job to write them into context.

Wide Open Wisconsin Spaces. Calm, dusky blueish gray. Bold, warm and exciting orange. Fonts that feel familiar. Logos that are just what they are. Real people with real feeling. Clean lines. Meaningful details.

A brand that says, “Hey. It’s so nice to meet you. Tell me about you.”

Jillian Dubois Photo and Film is one of the projects that’s going to stick with us for a very long time (and end up in our portfolio). While not a project that pushed the technical skills of website building to their limit, this project pushed artistry and expression to the limit.

Finding ways to create a website thats completely Jillian, in all her unique, nuanced and layered ways, was truly a treat for us.

I’ll gush about one thing in particular: in her body of work, Jillian (a Film-First Photographer) loves doing double exposures. We created sections and pages that imitated this very personal detail for her. It’s just one example, but it’s those sorts of details that make the work we do so custom.

Jillian, it’s so bittersweet, this project is over. But we can’t wait to see where this Branding, Copywriting and Website design take you. (And logo design)

So thrilled to be launching .photofilm brand today!

Jillian of the newly minted jduboisphoto.com (.photofilm), has this idea. There is this phenomenal willow tree in her town - a scenic spot next to a bridge that everyone stops and takes the same photo under. It’s a beautiful photo. But it’s the same.

Jillian can’t help but look for another angle, time or method to make it all her own.

From her was born this idea of a willow tree, the bark made of eyes. Eyes that view, that watch, that see. This concept of something so familiar and yet so alien, at once understandable and yet leaving questions.

Jillian isn’t different for the sake of it. She’s just what she has always known.

And this brand can finally say that.

A website is where copy, branding and target audience meet. They should resonate, build on each other and communicate. Some broad strokes: warm, sun-flared images to convey a romantic, dreamy feeling. Oval frames and different shaped images to imitate a family’s gallery wall. Text filling in the gaps to add context. Clear layouts. Simple statements. Emotional reasons.

Put together, this website feels like a photographer who gets you, puts you in the best light, and feels like family.
