Not exactly the aesthetic part of the ā€œworkspace upgradeā€ content. Nonetheless part of the whole.

I mean after all, a successful brand identity design doesn’t fully come together without 45+ Illustrator artboards with scattered vector logos and assets before the presentation and a few files labeled _v3, _v3-final, _final_Final.
šŸ˜…some designer humor there.

✨Cheers to businesses that are resilient through the process, the excitement, the tools, the pauses, the building.

I have discovered over the years that a lot of meaningful work lives in that very tension of being intentional but also not trying to fully expect being in control of every detail or aspect.

It’s taken a lot of self-discovery over 3+ decades on this earth to understand that emotionally powerful work often comes from my openness, my sensitivity, my observations, and really just being willing to feel things on a whole other level of deep. But this (especially as a creative, or parent, business owner, or community-centered person) usually then requires intentionality, boundaries, and let me say those two concepts can ABSOLUTELY COEXIST.

And I think people-first mindsets, like myself, especially struggle with this because the work we’re doing matters to us wayyyyyy beyond aesthetics and what meets the eye.

The stories, people, faces, places, culture, resonance and impact. The nuance. MATTERS.

Can we collectively say that realistically that powerful work does not always require an abundance of emotional chaos?

Some of the best work does come from encounters we couldn’t plan. Important of course, staying rooted - yet open to meaningful opportunities without abandoning our values or direction.

Uncovering your brand story, discovering your brand voice, leaning into purposeful strategy to make informed design decisions later will help - and I’m here for it!

I am here helping you build something beyond lists of deliverables and we’ll work with what you have and where you are now. Here is a great place to start.

Coming Soon - Summer 2026. ✨ Officially launching Viable By Design Creative Studio LLC with a website, resources, refined client experience rooted in collaboration, flexible design packages, brand story discovery and more for small businesses in a variety of stages. Website set to be live in summer, date to be announced soon.

After 8.5 years in a design/print production agency and a 3 year soft-launch as a freelancer operation, this year calls for the next chapter in this journey I’ve been on and creating as now a SMALL BUSINESS OWNER. ✨
I’m incredibly excited (and humbled) to share! And ultimately the fact that I get to do, this is from a variety of factors, including clients that have worked with me already. Thank you for the trust and collaboration! If you are new here and just discovering me, I cannot wait to meet you and work with you on your next creative project.

More to come. Join me.

Upgraded custom setup in 70 seconds...because let’s be real 60 seconds was just too quick. 😁
(Actual setup time at the bottom of the captionšŸ‘‡)

I’m not someone who upgrades just to keep up with trends or chase the newest thing. I believe in using tools fully, caring for what you have, and replacing things when they no longer support where you’re headed.

✨If something works, I keep using it.✨

(Yessssss, I also keep my mobile phone until about every 4-5 future models, then I trade in).

But after 13 years, I finally reached the point where my old setup no longer fit the work that I am stepping into. I see it as investing intentionally when the timing actually makes sense. (Spoiler, my beloved laptop still works just no longer fits as the main computing system in my design business).ā˜ŗļø

This upgrade is about creating a workflow that functions better, supports my clients holistically, and makes room for the next season of work ahead.

My previous workstation carried me through client projects, tons of growth, pivots, learning curves, and building this business piece by piece. I look back and it supported me way beyond my expectations.

Eventually, there comes a point where outgrowing something isn’t wasteful; it is truly necessary. And for me - it was just this.

Cheers to building businesses and choosing products crafted to last!

I will do a post in the future to break down what workstation I built and why it works for me, in case it resonates with you if you’re in the season of intentionally upgrading your tools! This isn’t sponsored, just two products that felt aligned with where I’m going after much research.

Actual setup time was about 20 minutes, edited this video down to 70 seconds ✨

Clean and friendly design, bold flavor. Check out this project!
I collaborated with an existing restaurant JM BĆ”nh MƬ — a Vietnamese deli in the heart of downtown Gresham, to design a set of business cards that match their current visual identity.

šŸ‘‰ Swipe through this carousel to see a sneak peak at their cuisine, the business card layout and a fun little animation to add some s***k.

To support this local business: visit www.jmbanhmi.com to make an order or stop by their restaurant.
