We do a lot to keep culture alive digitally Slack channels for hobbies, scheduled happy hours, icebreakers. But we decided that once a year, we need to get in the same room.

It’s now a permanent line item in our budget. Investing in the team is just as important as investing in the tech.

There’s a lot of fear around AI right now, but here’s how we’re thinking about it at Hello World:

AI is useful, but it’s not a senior developer. It doesn’t understand the full system or the client. It just predicts the next most likely answer, which means it can look right and still be completely wrong under the hood.

So we use it the way you’d use a junior team member. It helps us move faster on routine work, but the real decisions stay with the team leads who know the project and the long-term goals.

When we approach it that way, the quality goes up, not down.
