DevSwarm 2.5.8 brings a newer editor to every workspace and a steadier Rich Chat.

The editor in every workspace jumps twenty upstream releases, from VS Code 1.121 to 1.141, and its server now runs on Node 24 LTS.

Long Rich Chat sessions now keep a bounded window in memory and load older history one page at a time as you scroll.

Code in agent messages now gets syntax colors that follow your VS Code theme.

With Rich Chat in several workspaces, each pane now reopens its own conversation, model and mode after a restart. On macOS, an unanswered quit prompt no longer freezes DevSwarm.

Also fixed: submodules with missing Git LFS files, stale MCP status, View submenus that did not open, duplicate subagent permission cards and the macOS Help menu. We also hardened the IDE resource proxy, alongside build and dependency upkeep.

DevSwarm 2.5.7 is out, and it's mostly about reliability.

HiveControl's messages to your workspaces are now durable and reliably delivered.
Retry now restores an ended Claude session, and Codex terminals resume their own conversation.
Deleting a parent workspace now offers to move its children onto the grandparent branch, and you can branch from a source that only exists on origin.

Plus a clearer workspace view, steadier agent launch on Windows, and a round of internal test and stability work.

DevSwarm 2.5.0 is here. We made two major improvements to the way you work with AI coding agents. DevSwarm Chat gives your existing terminal agents a dedicated chat interface with Markdown responses, organized tool calls, clickable permissions, and persistent conversations. We also brought your VS Code theme across DevSwarm, with each project remembering its own theme. Same agents. Same workflow. A more familiar environment. Multi-Repo Workspaces are here in DevSwarm.

Most real-world applications are not built in a single repository.

Frontend.
Backend.
APIs.
Shared libraries.
Infrastructure.

But developers still have to jump between all of them every day.

Now DevSwarm lets you bring multiple repositories into one workspace while keeping everything Git-native.

Your repos stay independent.
Your workflow stays the same.
Your AI agents get the bigger picture.

The bottleneck is no longer typing. It's orchestration.

In this new 27-minute walkthrough, Trevor Dilley demonstrates how one developer can run an entire sprint inside DevSwarm. Manager workspaces. Parallel children. Integration workspaces. Review stacks. `devswarm jira` for zero-setup ticket administration.

The example: a two-week sprint for a real-time order-fulfillment system, modeled the way it actually plays out.

One developer. A whole sprint.

NEW on the DevSwarm blog: how senior devs ship epics in DevSwarm.

A sprint used to mean "plan the work, then watch the ex*****on crawl." That changed when AI stopped being a task-runner and started being an orchestrator.

In DevSwarm, a manager workspace plans the work, child workspaces execute in parallel, an integration workspace merges and tests, and a review stack breaks the result into PRs your team can actually read. Workspace messaging coordinates the whole thing. Branches aren't sacred anymore. They're scaffolding.

One developer. An entire sprint. DevSwarm makes it happen.

Your AI agent just shipped the fix. It opened the PR, tests passed, and without you doing anything, it moved the ticket to "In Review."

That's `devswarm jira`, new in DevSwarm 2.1.4. Any agent inside any workspace can transition tickets, leave status comments, and file new ones when it spots adjacent work.

It's the same pattern as the rest of the DevSwarm Tool. The agent doesn't ask you to switch tabs. It does the bookkeeping itself, and you stay in review mode.

Code. Commit. Transition. All from the agent.

Portland, OR developers: come build with us Thursday night!

Mike Biglan and Trevor Dilley are hosting Parallel AI Coding Night in Portland, for devs already using Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini, or Copilot, who want to push into running multiple AI agents in parallel.

Bring a laptop. We'll install DevSwarm live, run real parallel workflows on real problems, and talk about what's working, what's still messy, and where multi-agent coding is headed.

Light snacks, drinks, and 3 months of DevSwarm Pro on us for everyone who attends.

Thu, May 7, 6:00 to 7:30 PM PT
Kiln, 1120 SE Madison St, Portland, OR 97214

This is a local Portland, Oregon event only. Not local? Hang tight, more coming.

Your AI agent can now spawn other AI agents.

The DevSwarm Tool ships in 2.1.2: a CLI any agent can call from inside its workspace. Claude Code, Copilot, Gemini, Aider -- they all use it the same way.

A few things your agent can now do on its own:
-> devswarm workspace create feature/auth-tests -- spin up a child workspace branched from its current work
-> devswarm workspace message-child "extract the JWT helper" -- delegate a subtask
-> devswarm workspace monitor -- wait for the child to report back
-> devswarm workspace merge-from-source -- pull in what a sibling shipped

You write one prompt. A hierarchy of agents executes it in parallel. You stay in the loop as the reviewer, not the dispatcher.
