I recently had the great pleasure of working with ghostwriter, Erica Florentine, on a new website. I created a website for her that talks directly to what she does, how it works, how much people love working with her, and the success she’s had without referencing specific projects because they're under NDA. It was a wonderful challenge and I think the results will help bring her continued success with her already successful ghostwriting career. I’m so grateful to have been a part of this project!

I was delighted to work with Rebecca Boyle on her new author website ahead of the launch of her first book, OUR MOON. I was telling a friend yesterday that maybe this project will bring me more awesome folks working on cool science stuff, because the nerd in me really loves it! The book will be released January 2024, and I wish Rebecca every success.

Like many women, especially those whose careers started awhile back, I faced some obstacles to success due to being a woman in a predominantly male-dominated field (software development). This is true even though I worked with a relatively enlightened group of folks who would have said they would never let my gender influence their thinking, including the woman who managed me for a large portion of my tenure. It's one of the reasons I ended up leaving Silicon Valley and starting my own web design company, and I know I'm not alone in that choice of action as women are becoming business owners at an incredible rate. So I was delighted to create a new author website for Amy Diehl, PhD. Amy is a gender equity expert working as an IT leader herself -- her new book, Glass Walls: Shattering the Six Gender Bias Barriers Still Holding Women Back at Work, addresses the fact that we've come a long way, but we still have a ways to go. I have some great friends who are also named Kate. One of them is an incredible career coach. She's someone who asks insightful questions and very quickly has meaningful advice, after some masterful listening. She's able to pull from her own life and her deep understanding of how (and why) people work to immediately make connections that you might not see, and point you in a new, better direction. I'm grateful for our friendship for all of these reasons (and more), and I'm also grateful that she hired me to create a new website for her. Creating something new for someone is exciting, and when it fits just right it's also rewarding. Especially when that person is a friend. I do make websites for people who aren't authors, I just don't talk about it much. And I suspect it won't be too long before Kate writes a book anyway! (with Kate Cockrill)
