We are RE-OPENING on Monday, March 21st. Bob will be in a wheelchair for a couple more months and says he is excited to get back to work!
Thanks for the prayers and well wishes!
For those who want to know what happened:
On Thursday, February 10th, it had rained earlier in the day. The temperature had dropped, causing the rain to change to snow and the sidewalks to freeze up under the snow. Bob was carrying groceries from the car to the house, slipped on the ice and fell. We didn't know that Bob suffers from osteoporosis. Bob broke both legs in the fall. His left femur was broken in four places and his right tibia was also broken in multiple places (we are not sure how many breaks he had in his tibia). He was brought to Fairview by ambulance. Fairview would not operate on him & neither would the U of M. He was then transferred to North Memorial, the surgeon put a rod in his left femur and a plate in his right tibia. He was just released from North Memorial a week ago and is already bored!
