I don't post a lot these days on my business page, and I have long ago stopped going gaga about tech, but I like to help and I thought you should know about this indoor TV antenna that actually works!

I work in a basement level office and like to have the news on for at least part of the day. I cut the cord for cable TV long ago and went to streaming but it also meant no local TV. I have tried other antennas but they only partially worked. But then I read this review from a trusted source and decided to give it a try since it had a money back as well.

Much to my surprise, for about $50, it really works. I get 21 stations over the air, including all 3 news stations, for free now with reception better than it was in the old days.

Pick a streaming service or two and add this antenna and you're all set for a long time. It works well.

Get TV for free by watching over-the-air broadcasts. Here are our top recommendations for the best indoor TV antennas.

Payday Lenders are the worst of the worst of exploiters of the poor. Please sign. The more who do the more pressure it exerts to do away with these scum for good.

"Hello everyone,

We NEED you!

This is the year to reform payday lending in Rhode Island! Please join us and sign on to this open letter to Speaker Shekarchi and Senate President Ruggerio to advance payday lending reform this year. We are asking the Housing Corporations and Senate Commerce Committees to vote H-7211 and S-2141 out of committees.

Please share with your networks and sign on by Thursday, May 23rd. The letter, which is embedded in the form for your reference, will be shared with the Speaker and Senate President on May 28th and published as an open letter shortly after. We believe that public policies have more power when the "public" speaks up together in solidarity.

This is a 14-year-long fight against this predatory payday lending practice. We have broad support for reform and the only opposition is the payday lending industry as they make millions of dollars while keeping Rhode Islanders in a cycle of debt. Let's unite and show the Speaker and Senate President that Rhode Islanders want reform NOW!

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

In solidarity,

Weayonnoh, Alan, and Margaux

I recently had to deal with a compromised Facebook log-in. There was a chrome book logged in in Virginia to the account. Using the above page, I logged it out and changed the password. You should check periodically to see if there are any surprises for you too.

Google has a way for you to do this as well.

“Broadband and TV providers will finally be required to stop charging "rental" fees for equipment that customers own themselves, thanks to a new US law that takes effect on Sunday.”

New law also targets hidden cable-TV fees and lets users cancel without penalty.

New scam!

(For me anyway.)

I got a call from Citibank saying they needed my to update my account and that I could log in or call them back.

If you call it, you get a voice recording asking you to put in you account number. No other choices are given.

I checked the number and got this. It's a scam to get the account.

NOTE: I don't even have an account there but I used to. Dropped them for being such jerks long ago.

Heads up! Google has a new storage policy. You knew it was coming sooner or later.

This is some time away before it kicks in but all Google users will be effected by it.

New inactive and over quota storage policies

Dear Google User,
We are writing to let you know that we recently announced new storage policies for Google Accounts using Gmail, Google Drive (including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, Forms, and Jamboard files) and/or Google Photos that bring us in line with industry practices. Since you have previously used one or more of these products in your Google Account storage, we wanted to tell you about the new policies well before they go into effect on June 1, 2021. Below is a summary of the new policies. Please reference our Help Center article for a complete list of what's changing. What this means for you:

• You won't be impacted by these changes unless you've been inactive or over your storage limit for 2 years. As this policy goes into effect June 1, 2021, the earliest it would be enforced is June 1, 2023.

• After June 1, 2021, if you are either inactive or over your storage limit, we will send you email reminders and notifications in advance and prior to deleting any content.

• Even if you are either inactive or over your storage limit for one or more of these services and content is deleted, you will still be able to sign in.

• Note: The inactivity and over quota storage policies will apply only to consumer users of Google services. "We're introducing new policies for consumer accounts that are either inactive or over their storage limit across Gmail, Drive (including Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawings, Forms and Jamboard files) and/or Photos to better align with common practices across the industry," explains Google in a blog post announcing the change. "If you're inactive in one or more of these services for two years (24 months), Google may delete the content in the product(s) in which you're inactive."

If you don't check in on your files every now and then, Google "may" delete them.
