💭All about the pillowssss.💭

This custom Shopify build still has us dreaming. 😍😍

This was built using Shopify, Liquid HTML, Bootstrap and a LOT of creative ingenuity to get the development to mirror the design.

In total, it took us about 3 months to build, test and launch their first version.

And we aren’t stopping! We are doing even more to their theme to help them reach their goals.

🫥 COME AT ME 🫣

Listen, anyone can create a basic site and slap pretty photos on it.

But there comes a time when you need MORE from your site.

🔥You need to start using it as a tool for warming up leads

🔥 You need it as a 24/7 salesman that constantly finds and pitches people (SEO)

🔥 You need to create a cohesive platform + experience for you clients and customers. End to end

🔥 You need a higher rate of return than IG or social media.

🔥 You want to be independent from other platforms

The list goes on, but you see my point.

As you and your business grows, so should your site. Your site can be a 24/7 lead and sales machine. It can be a Member Keeper, and so much more than a “marketing tool”.

This is where most website builders fail and why you need a strong platform foundation to get the most out of your site.

🍕Want to increase your mobile site speed?

Mobile site speed is becoming more and more relevant for websites. Especially for SEO and ranking well of Google.

Site builders such as Squarespace and Showit don’t offer much control with what you can remove or adjust, but here are 3 ways to increase and optimize your site speed.

1. Optimize your images.

Yes, Squarespace and Showit can optimize your images for you. But often, they leave a LOT of unnecessary bloat on images. Especially PNGs. Make sure to run your images through a simple optimizer and opt in on Photoshop for the smaller file size.

Also, be sure to properly size your images (if you did the design right, you can see on Figma and XD what the pixel width and height should be for mobile and desktop).

2. Optimize video.

If you don’t have a super cool service like us to do custom dev (we have some special tech for video content), then here a few tricks.

For background video, use a service like Vimeo for optimizing video content. They do a lot of the heavy work and makes your life simple.

Also avoid a ton of gifs unless you plan to use Lottie Animations (they are faster and provide a more instant experience).

Similar to image content, make sure you export video at the right size (you can control a lot of this through premiere and after effects).

3. THE MOST IMPORTANT.

I couldn’t believe it.

And then pulled out his phone and continued to view this site on mobile.

🤯🤯🤯 Why?!?

Because 80% of all users view things from their phone. A WHOLE EIGHTY!

What does this mean for you?

It’s means mobile should be designed in line with your desktop site, if not first. There are actually schools of thought that design with mobile in mind first (called, wait for it…mobile first design).

🥳 You must also put just as much effort into the mobile site design as your desktop layout (really more. Don’t be lazy. I promise it’s worth it).

🫥 Designing with mobile first (or at least in mind), guarantees your clients and their customers will have better overall experiences that will lead to better results.

In fact, when we’ve upgraded our clients sites on mobile, they’ve seen tremendous growth (15 - 20% growth!).
