As I discussed on my blog last June, Microsoft is ending support for Windows XP a year from today. While XP will continue to work, Microsoft will no longer issue security updates, patches or any other support. Wow... IBM is killing the Lotus brand. Many folks my age and above cut our teeth on Lotus 123 on old IBM PC green or amber monochrome screens.

IBM is planning to release on Dec. 14 a public beta of Notes and Domino 9.0 Social Edition that will no longer use the Lotus brand.
