Today was such a meaningful experience with Wake County’s 4th graders at the Marbles Museum!

Together, the students, teachers, chaperones, and helpers helped bring one shared artwork to life. What I love most about Southeastern designs is that they tell a bigger story when they all come together. The symbols we used speak about new life and the beginnings we step into, the balance we strive for, the way life constantly flows and shifts, and the importance of staying grounded in who we are.

When the kids added their sections to the canvas, they weren’t just decorating, they were adding their own voice to the story. You could see the intention, the curiosity, and their little view of the world in every mark. Seeing them connect with the designs so respectfully and with so much excitement honestly touched my heart.

I’m humbled and honored to have been a part of this day, and deeply grateful to Wake County Indian Education and Marbles Museum for welcoming us and creating space for cultural learning through art. 🤍✨
