As we continue to celebrate Women's History Month, we would like to share the story of a participant in Microsoft Leap’s Cybersecurity and AI Reskilling program in Kenya, Vestine.

Vestine commuted from the Kakuma Refugee Camp to the capital city, Nairobi, to learn how to enhance her capabilities as an instructor with the Solidarity Initiative for Refugees. With these new skills, Vestine will be able to enhance how she supports the training of 300 girls annually in coding, AI, and Digital Marketing.

As a global movement for the skills-based economy, Microsoft Leap is transforming the talent ecosystem by providing rigorous training and support that help people make a difference from day one. In Kenya, we are collaborating with Microsoft Philanthropies through their Artificial Intelligence National Skilling Initiative (AINSI) to train trainers within nonprofit organizations and skilling partners on AI and cybersecurity. This initiative aims to educate instructors on best practices for integrating AI and other innovative tools into their teaching methods.
