As we near the end of the month, we’re spotlighting how community, empathy, and technology can come together to support children and families when they need it most.

Through its Every Child program, The Contingent is helping communities recruit and support foster families by combining deep local understanding with data‑driven insights. Working with Microsoft technology, the nonprofit uses analytics and targeted digital outreach to identify where support is needed most — and to mobilise foster parents and volunteers at scale.

The impact has been powerful: more foster family inquiries, greater diversity among prospective parents, and thousands of volunteers stepping forward to support children in care.

It’s an important reminder that technology alone isn’t the answer, but when it’s grounded in trust, empathy, and human connection, it can help amplify compassion and create meaningful change for children and families.

What happens when belief, structure, and opportunity come together?

For young people like Ari Travis, it can change everything.

After years of instability and trauma, Ari found a sense of belonging and a future through Everything Suarve (ESuarve), an Australian nonprofit supporting at‑risk youth to build practical skills, emotional resilience, and confidence.

Today, Ari has a job, a home of his own, and a voice he’s using to help others find their way forward.

As ESuarve continues to grow, Microsoft technology is helping the small team spend less time on admin, protect sensitive information, and focus more time where it matters most — supporting young lives.

It’s a powerful example of how heart‑led leadership, community, and the right technology can help turn lives around.

This , we’re celebrating the power of determination on the field, in research, and in community.

Former NFL athlete Steve Gleason brought the same fighting spirit from his career into his battle with ALS. He helped spark a movement, inspiring the creation of Answer ALS to accelerate progress against this devastating disease.

Today, Answer ALS, Microsoft, and people living with ALS have built the world’s largest ALS research hub, unlocking new opportunities for discovery. Powered by Azure, Neuromine is a first‑in‑class platform used by researchers globally to analyze data faster and collaborate at scale.

Because when technology meets purpose, progress and hope, moves faster.

When disaster strikes, every minute matters.

This World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day, we’re proud to support organisations like the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) as they use technology to strengthen humanitarian response and reach communities faster.

Operating across 192 countries, IFRC and National Societies works in some of the most complex, high‑pressure environments imaginable — coordinating volunteers, sharing critical information, and responding in real time when lives are at stake.

By bringing its global workforce onto Microsoft 365, IFRC created a more secure and connected way to work. The result: faster decisions, stronger collaboration across regions, and more time focused on what matters most — helping people in crisis.

As AI becomes an increasingly powerful tool for nonprofits, the opportunity lies in how it’s applied to strengthen operations and scale impact, while staying true to mission.

In a new episode of the Fundraising.AI podcast, Project C.U.R.E. CEO Dr. Douglas Jackson reflects on the organization’s journey from a small garage in 1987 to a global medical relief charity. He speaks about how data, volunteers, and Microsoft tools have helped power that growth.

The conversation also explores how strategic technology adoption and a responsible approach to AI, in addition to strong partnerships, are improving efficiency and access — particularly for nonprofits looking to do more with limited resources.

When someone hears the words “you have cancer,” life changes instantly.

Behind stories like these is Cancer Council Victoria, supporting Australians affected by cancer for decades. But lately, more and more people have been calling for help with something that’s hard to talk about: the financial shock that can come with a diagnosis, like mortgages, insurance, time off work, and travel for treatment.

To help more people without stretching limited resources, Cancer Council Victoria is using Azure AI Services to support financial counselors.
