I have been updating our Outage map as i find time during the downpours. We now have a lighting strike layer that is pretty cool! You can always check the status of our network and add layers for radar lightning strikes and other data. If you have a suggestion or ideas on improvement reach out with your suggestions.

Network Notice – Degraded Service
WiConnect is currently experiencing reduced capacity on one of our upstream internet connections. Traffic has automatically failed over to a backup path, so service remains online, but customers may notice slower speeds during peak usage. We are working with our upstream carrier to restore full capacity and will post updates as we have them. We apologize for the inconvenience. Questions? Our provider is working on restoration.

The storm this evening has caused several outages. We are actively working on several issues and many sites are without power at this time. Crawford County was hit with a tornado just south of the seneca area and is causing several sites to be down including Wauzeka Wisconsin.

Many of our customers have been asking for an alerting and outage system. It is in the development process and is ready for a trial. Give it a try and please leave your comments and suggestions. This site currently shows active weather, Alliant Energy power outages and our fiber and access point plants. We are working on our Cable plant maps as well. Give it a try:

Currently we are experiencing several outages due to the loss of power at over several of our sites. Service will be restored as quickly as possible and updates will be posted and further damage is known. Thanks for your understanding during these challenging storm situations.

Damage in a few areas today. Someone decided to drive off the road near seneca and destroy one of our pedistals. Also have considerable damage from the storms to our cable head end on a couple of satellite dishes. Getting content moved around to keep everything working today!
