Weather some hoppers with us! We've wanted to make a "showcase" car for some time - a model that would use as many of our decal sets as possible - just for the fun and challenge of it. A couple of our freelance hopper cars became the victims of this exercise. One was kept in a mid-'70s coal hauling vintage, while the other represents a car that survived to the post-2005 yellow strip era. Details on the weathering process and decal sets used are in the photo captions. Enjoy!

Freelance GP35s! We were able to take some of our painted, unlettered GP35 models from our 2025 production and turn them into custom models for a freelance model railroad. The project started with numerous mockups on an "Operation Lifesaver" theme, and after some revisions, modifications, detail painting, and multiple weathering steps, we wound up with some finished models that we think look pretty good!

Data decals are critical on modern diesels. To make this freelance SD70ACe look correct, 60+ warning and data labels were added from our DL6387 decal sheet. A subtle yellow frame sill stripe was also applied courtesy of our new DF7787 offering.

More info on our decals can be found on our website, and additional info on this locomotive model is in the photo captions.
