According to Marketing Tech News, United States digital ad spending is projected to grow by 10.7% to over $200 billion in 2022, with the Search Advertising segment projected to have the highest spend. This will be the first time that U.S. digital ad spending reaches over $200 billion in a year. Search Advertising spend alone is projected to be $78 billion in 2021, which was an increase of 17.8% from 2020.
Nowadays, it is extremely important for businesses to have streamlined branding on both desktop and mobile devices. This increased in importance in 2018 when ad spending by device shifted to become mobile-dominant and accounted for 54% of the total ad spend by device. This mobile to desktop ad spend divide is expected to reach a 70% to 30% split in favor of mobile devices sometime in 2024.
