Anthem is the receiver I use most in home theaters. Looks like others agree!

I use you guys for buying electronics but I notice that you never do recommendations of these larger sizes that are under $3000.00.There has to be some good units out there and I am not interested in 3-D and could live without smart features if I can get a best picture at a down to earth price.

Although Radio Shack was once a mecca for the tech community, foolish demands of investors and alienation of its core customer base contributed to the chain's eventual bankruptcy.

Ok, I know this medium doesn't do it justice but here's a shot of a 175" screen with projected video running in 4k or UHD (ultra HD). Yes folks, 1080p HD is not the latest and greatest anymore. 4k UHD is around the corner!

I recently got a call from a customer complaining of a problem with one of his home speakers. Imagine my surprise (and joy) to find it was a mint condition, 1964 Empire Grenadier 9000M. This speaker is more like a piece of furniture with its dark wood cabinet holding the down-firing woofer and marble top. I re-capped the crossover and brought it mostly back to life but the coil in the tweeter is open. Online searches haven't uncovered a replacement so I'm still searching. Meanwhile, I thought I'd share a couple photos.

Oh, and the customer first demonstrated the problem for me by playing a jazz LP, yes kids, LP. Analog! And, the LP was in great condition, no clicks, no crackles. Made me really happy that day!
