Catalone created a new mascot for the Washinhton Waldorf School. Go Knights!
Our new mascot graphics were unveiled at the gala this past weekend!
From Jennifer Page's remarks at the Gala:
"...what does it mean to have a knighthood in 2021? Certainly, history has not always portrayed knights in a positive light. Some images we would seek to emulate, others we would not. But here at WWS, we strive to express a different kind of knighthood. A knighthood not based on gender, race, sexual orientation, or other classification. Instead WWS knighthood is one that values service, compassion, caring for others, having the courage to speak the truth when doing so is difficult, being willing to be an upstander, being resilient in the face of challenges, being tolerant for the mistakes of others, being brave when times are hard, and many more. These are the qualities and attributes we strive to emulate and we want our students to embody and express as they grow and develop. During the pandemic crisis, we have seen these qualities in our students. We have seen them in all of you. These are the seeds for the future, the hope for humanity and the care of our world."
