All: Please evaluate your bandwidth needs and see if you're on a level sufficient enough to manage your household usage.
Bandwidth. What is it? What does it do? How much do I need?
Bandwidth is the maximum amount of data transmitted over an internet connection in a given amount of time.
Bandwidth is often mistaken for internet speed but it's actually the volume of information that can be sent over a connection in a measured amount of time.
Internet speed is how fast it is received or downloaded.
How much bandwidth do I need?
This is all dependent on the number of devices and users in your home, as well as the type of activity you're using the connection for.
Streaming, gaming, several devices in use at one time, and other high-capacity activities require more bandwidth.
10mbps will only facilitate a family of two that uses the internet for email and web browsing only.
Suggested bandwidth for streaming is at least 25mbps.
You can look at the FCC’s guide to broadband to get a better gauge.

How can I increase my bandwidth?
What is your internet level/plan?
Do you have sufficient bandwidth for your daily usage?
Do you have multiple devices (iPhones, laptops, tablets, etc.) connected?
Are you streaming?
These are all questions to ask yourself before evaluating your internet plan.
Internet levels can be increased by contacting your local office at (304) 567-2121.
Feel free to contact SKSRT at 304-567-2121 to inquire about bandwidth and have your level checked to see if its sufficient for your daily activities and needs, to enhance your user experience.
Is your Wi-Fi router effectively working?
A rule of thumb is to upgrade to a new router for the fastest most efficient speeds.
A router does not show wear and tear on the outside as much as it does within the device itself.
Also managing your router is a way to ensure efficiency.
Managing your router will show devices connected that are not necessary which can cause interference with your current bandwidth.
It can also show if a Wi-Fi network or capability has been accidentally turned off.
SKSRT offers a Gigaspire router to our internet customers. This can eliminate the need for you to troubleshoot your own router yourself, and it can be accessed by our technicians from our central office.
Please call the office and ask for further details.
Wired connection
Try using a wired connection from your Ethernet cable (CAT5) to your laptop or device.
Direct connections help eliminate congestion in the air waves and interference with other devices.
This connection eliminates the router and Wi-Fi connection.
Several of SKSRT's customers remain on a level of internet not sufficient for their daily usage.
We offer 100/100 mbps that can facilitate all needs including several devices and/or streaming and gaming capabilities.
As technology evolves, your internet speed must evolve too.
