Not every warning sign shows up in a hospital.

Sometimes it's forgetting a name you've known for years.
Sometimes it's losing your train of thought.
Sometimes it's standing at a green light wondering why you aren't moving.

The challenge is that many people dismiss these moments as stress, aging, or simply having a bad day.

Maybe they are.

But maybe they're worth paying attention to.

Awareness isn't about fear.

It's about recognizing when something has changed and being willing to ask questions.

Support The HeadRush Foundation as we continue raising awareness, sharing education, and helping families affected by brain trauma find hope.

Words matter.

They can encourage someone to ask for help—or keep them suffering in silence.

That's why we continue having conversations that raise awareness, reduce stigma, and help people find hope.

The words we use matter.

They shape how we see ourselves.
They shape how we see others.
And sometimes they determine whether someone asks for help at all.

For years, many people have struggled in silence because they feared being judged, labeled, or misunderstood.

That's one reason we continue having these conversations.

The goal isn't to argue over terminology.

The goal is to help more people understand that what they're experiencing may have real biological causes—and that there may be resources, therapies, and support available.

Support The HeadRush Foundation as we continue raising awareness, sharing education, and helping families affected by brain trauma find hope.

One of the saddest things we hear is:

"This is just how I am now."

For many people living with the effects of traumatic brain injury, repeated head impacts, blast exposure, or neurological challenges, that belief can become a prison.

Not because recovery is guaranteed.

But because the possibility of improvement is never explored.

What if there are therapies?
What if there are answers?
What if there are options you haven't heard about yet?

Sometimes hope begins with a simple question:

"What else is possible?"

Support The HeadRush Foundation as we continue raising awareness, sharing education, and helping families affected by brain trauma find hope.

Behind every research study is a family.

Behind every statistic is a person.

And behind many of the conversations we have on brain health are loved ones who chose to help others during one of the most difficult moments of their lives.

Brain donation is not an easy decision.

For many families, it's a final act of service—one that may help researchers better understand brain injury, neurological disease, and future pathways to prevention and treatment.

Today, we honor those families.

Their contributions may help create answers that future generations desperately need.

How do you think we can better recognize the people behind medical research?

One of the biggest challenges in brain health is separating assumptions from evidence.

It's natural to want quick answers.

But science rarely works that way.

Researchers spend years studying patterns, collecting data, testing theories, and asking better questions before reaching meaningful conclusions.

That process can be frustrating.

It can also be incredibly important.

Because the better we understand how brain injuries are identified and studied, the better equipped we are to have informed conversations about prevention, treatment, and support.

What's one thing about brain health that you wish more people understood?

One of the biggest misconceptions about brain health is that researchers already have all the answers.

They don't.

Every year, new studies reveal how much more there is to learn about the effects of repeated head impacts, brain injury, and long-term neurological health.

Some of the most important discoveries don't come from confirming what we already know.

They come from uncovering things we didn't expect to find.

That's why continued research matters.

And that's why awareness matters too.

What brain health question do you hope researchers answer in the next decade?

Some stories stay with you.

Not because they provide all the answers.

But because they remind us how important the questions really are.

More than a year after our original conversation about Pete Kennedy, his story continues to spark discussions about brain health, mental health, repeated head impacts, and the challenges many families face while searching for understanding.

Awareness doesn't happen in a single episode.

It happens when people are willing to keep listening, keep learning, and keep having difficult conversations.

What conversation about brain health do you think society still isn't having often enough?

One of the challenges in brain health research is that science rarely moves in straight lines.

Every major discovery seems to create new questions.

Researchers continue exploring what happens inside the brain after repeated head impacts, and some of the most important findings may involve changes occurring long before traditional signs can be identified.

That's why research matters.

Not because we already have every answer—but because we're still uncovering questions that could change how we understand prevention, diagnosis, and recovery.

What area of brain health research do you think deserves more attention?
