Tech scam reminder: a scary pop-up does not mean your computer is actually infected.

If a message suddenly fills your screen and says things like:

• “Your computer has been locked”
• “Virus detected”
• “Call Microsoft Support immediately”
• “Do not turn off your computer”

…don’t call the number.

Scammers use fake warnings to pressure people into giving them remote access, personal information, or payment.

Instead, close the browser if you can, restart the computer if needed, and have someone you trust take a look before doing anything else.

When in doubt, don’t panic — and don’t click.

Is your computer acting… weird?

Maybe it’s suddenly running slower than usual. Maybe it keeps freezing, crashing, overheating, making strange noises, or throwing pop-ups at you for no obvious reason.

That doesn’t always mean you need a new computer.

Sometimes it just needs a little troubleshooting, cleanup, repair, or a hardware upgrade to get things running smoothly again.

If your computer has started developing a personality of its own, bring it in and let us take a look.

Happy Clean Your Virtual Desktop Day! 🖥️

If your desktop is currently covered in screenshots, random downloads, mystery PDFs, and files named things like “final_final_REALLYfinal,” today might be your day. 😆

A cluttered desktop can make it harder to find what you actually need — and it’s a good reminder that a little digital cleanup goes a long way.

A few easy places to start:

• Delete files you no longer need
• Move important files into folders
• Clean out your Downloads folder
• Empty the recycle bin
• Back up anything important before deleting

Your computer may not notice the moral victory…
…but you will.

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, which makes this a good time for a quick digital safety check.

A few simple habits can make a big difference:

• Use strong, unique passwords for important accounts
• Turn on two-factor authentication whenever it’s available
• Be cautious with unexpected links, attachments, and login requests
• Don’t trust pop-ups that claim your computer is infected and tell you to call a phone number
• Keep Windows, browsers, and other software updated

Most scams rely on getting you to panic and act quickly. If something on your computer is flashing warnings, demanding payment, or telling you to call “support” immediately, stop before clicking anything.

Quick tech tip: if the only copy of an important file is on your computer, it isn’t backed up.

Hard drives fail. Laptops get dropped. Files get accidentally deleted. And sometimes computers just decide today is the day they’re going to make things difficult.

Important photos, schoolwork, business documents, tax files, and anything else you really don’t want to lose should exist in more than one place.

An external drive or a reliable cloud backup can save a whole lot of panic later. Future you will be very grateful.

Happy World Teachers’ Day! 🍎

Teachers somehow manage to juggle lesson plans, grading, emails, presentations, online portals, classroom technology, and approximately 47 other things at once.

So today, we’re giving a big thank-you to the teachers who keep showing up, adapting, and making it all work — even when the projector doesn’t cooperate and the laptop chooses that exact moment to install updates.

We appreciate everything you do.

Happy International Coffee Day! ☕

Around here, computers may run on electricity…

…but we run on coffee. 😆

Whether we’re diagnosing a stubborn laptop, cleaning up a slow PC, or trying to figure out why something that worked perfectly yesterday has suddenly decided it wants nothing to do with us, there’s a pretty good chance there’s a cup of coffee nearby.

Here’s to caffeine, troubleshooting, and one more restart just to see what happens.
