Had another interesting conversation today with a Placer County business owner who told me flat out: "We don't need a website for our business." Meanwhile I'm sitting there thinking... really? In this digital age? 😳
I totally get where they're coming from though. When you're juggling all the day-to-day operations of a small business, a website feels like just another expense that can wait. But here's what I've seen time and again with my clients - your potential customers are absolutely looking you up online BEFORE they ever call you. No website? They're just clicking over to the next business that does have one.
What many local business owners don't realize is that a website isn't just a digital business card. It's literally working for you around the clock - building credibility (because let's be honest, we all hesitate when a business has zero online presence), generating leads while you sleep, and answering those same customer questions so you don't have to repeat yourself for the thousandth time.
My advice is always the same: start simple but start somewhere. You don't need some fancy expensive website with all the bells and whistles. Just something professional that clearly shows who you are and what you offer.
Are you still holding back on getting a website for your local business? What's your biggest concern? Drop a comment - I'd love to help work through it!
