Behind the technical jargon of the CMS pledge zPaper signed this week lies a simple truth: A person should not have to reassemble their own medical history from memory at a front desk.

Right now, that history sits in scattered pieces across multiple EHR portals. Each portal holds a partial record, which is just a fragment of a person's health story. Nobody, not even the patient, has the full picture. Healthcare forms at the doctor's office exist to fill that gap, but badly, one clipboard at a time.

On July 27th, Eric Stephens and Judson Bruno represented zPaper at the CMS Health Tech Ecosystem event in Washington, D.C., where they joined healthcare leaders in signing the CMS Interoperability Framework pledge.

What this commitment means:
- Empower Patients: Enables individuals to pull records from CMS Aligned Networks or personal health apps.
- Seamless Sharing: Allows patients to share their data directly with providers via QR codes and SMART Health Cards/Links using FHIR bundles.

https://bit.ly/4wxkKT1 by zPaper is how we are making that happen.

Health data lives with the person, not stored within our app. They choose what to share and who receives it. When they make it accessible to healthcare personnel, it arrives in a native format EHR systems are built to accept rather than as another piece of paper to be typed in manually.

Signing was the easy part. The real measure of success is whether the next healthcare front desk still needs the clipboard.
