Sacramento's startup community doesn't get enough credit!

StartupSac has been quietly championing founders in this region for years — and LogRx is one of the companies that benefited from that support in our early days.

Grateful to StartupSac for sharing the story behind LogRx. Read the full article ⬇️

I’ve used plenty of systems in the field that made the job harder than it needed to be.

That was not going to be LogRx.

When Coastal Medical Services says their paramedics love how easy it is, and that our tech support is phenomenal, that means we are doing the thing we set out to do.

Build something crews can actually use, and support agencies like we understand what is on the line.

This is one of those details that can get ugly fast.

Most agencies log controlled substances when they come in, but miss the storage access piece.

Who opened the safe? When? Was it documented?

If that answer is unclear, your chain of custody has a hole in it.

I’ve handled controlled substances as a paramedic, firefighter, and fire chief. This is not an area where “probably fine” cuts it.

You need strong security, clear documentation, and real-time visibility.

That is why we partnered with The Knox Company . Their Med Vaults help secure the drugs, and LogRx helps agencies see activity, track access, and catch issues fast.

Checks and balances matter. Especially here.

We’ve been getting a lot of the same questions from agencies lately about DEA rules, audits, and accountability across crews.

So Clive started walking through these conversations every week.

Real-world guidance from a career paramedic and former fire chief.

Is your department audit ready?

We've been there and done that when it comes to controlled substance tracking.
There is an alternative to paper tracking and it makes it easier on your crew. Watch for more details.

Chain of custody does not stop when controlled substances are received.

You also need to know where they are stored, who had access, and when.

That is the step a lot of agencies miss.

Document the access. Close the gap.

I know how much time pen & paper narcotics tracking can steal from a department.

I built LogRx after decades in EMS and the fire service, seeing the same problems over and over.

That is why this testimonial hits home. LogRx helped streamline narcotic processes at two organizations, saved time and money, and gave paramedics an app they actually like using.

That is the bar: make the process easier, make accountability stronger, and support agencies like we have been in their boots. Because we have.

I’ve spent enough years in EMS and fire to know this: when it comes to controlled medications, redundancy matters.

If your agency uses The Knox Company , LogRx integrates directly.

You can see Knox activity right inside the LogRx admin site, giving your team more visibility, stronger accountability, and another layer of confidence that your drugs are secured and tracked.

LogRx started because we lived the problem.

As paramedics, firefighters, and administrators, we knew what narcotics accountability felt like in the real world. The paperwork. The pressure. The constant need to prove everything was accounted for.

So we built the system we wish we had in the field.

Because first responders already have enough to worry about.
