Geo Comm

Geo Comm GeoComm safeguards communities by modernizing geographic data and creating intuitive maps that effortlessly connect with emergency agencies.

GeoComm (www.geo-comm.com) was founded in 1995 to provide county governments with turnkey emergency 9-1-1 development services. Over the subsequent 27 years, the company has grown to serve more than 12,000 dispatchers in 800 emergency 9-1-1 call centers in the United States, helping to keep more than 84 million people safe. Today, GeoComm has a national reputation as a leading provider of geograph

ic information and communication systems. The company's systems route emergency calls to the appropriate call center, map the caller’s location on a dispatchers map, and guide emergency responders to the accident on mobile displays within police, fire and ambulance vehicles.

Every public safety technology conversation eventually comes back to the same question:

What can responders actually see when seconds matter?

A call may start the response.
But the full picture depends on what comes next.

The building.
The location.
The people involved.
The data that helps teams coordinate before uncertainty becomes delay.

GeoComm President & CEO TJ Kennedy will take the stage at the Safer Buildings Coalition Wireless Tech & Policy Summit to share how frontline public safety experience and innovative technology can help create safer communities.

Because when a life is on the line, the difference is not just the technology.

A school emergency can unfold in seconds. In those moments, first responders need more than an address. They need accurate, accessible location intelligence that helps them understand where to go, what they may encounter, and how to respond with confidence.

That level of readiness does not happen by chance. It requires investment before an emergency occurs — in planning, coordination, technology, and trusted information shared between schools, 9-1-1, and emergency response teams.

GeoComm President & CEO TJ Kennedy shares why sustained investment in school safety is essential to helping communities strengthen preparedness and improve emergency response when every second matters.

Across New Mexico, 9-1-1 GIS teams are working through a shared challenge: how to keep GIS data accurate, aligned, and ready to support NG9-1-1.

At the 2026 New Mexico NENA Dispatch, GIS & Vendor Conference, GeoComm led a full-day GIS for NG9-1-1 training focused on helping agencies move from GIS data challenges to practical readiness steps. The session covered 9-1-1 GIS Data Synchronization Workflows, Boundary and Road Alignment Best Practices, ArcGIS Pro demonstrations, and GeoComm’s role in supporting NM 9-1-1 GIS.

Before the conference, attendees also had the opportunity to submit GIS data for a free analysis. Onsite, those results became the starting point for more focused discussions around real data issues, recommended next steps, and how agencies can continue improving GIS readiness.

Thank you to the attendees and New Mexico APCO/NENA Conference organizers for making this a valuable event and for helping advance practical conversations around GIS readiness for NG9-1-1.

GeoComm is excited to announce a strategic partnership with StrataSite® to help schools and public safety agencies strengthen preparedness, improve coordination, and respond with greater confidence when it matters most.

Together, GeoComm’s public safety grade indoor mapping and location intelligence and StrataSite’s incident action planning platform help schools, NG911, law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other response stakeholders align around shared plans, clearly defined roles, and authoritative location data.
During an emergency, responders need more than a map. They need a coordinated plan grounded in accurate, trusted information.

This partnership helps organizations move beyond static documents and disconnected information toward a more complete, shared operating picture for preparedness, training, and coordinated response.

GeoComm was proud to be a Gold Sponsor and connect with Fire and EMS leaders focused on strengthening the future of emergency response at ImageTrend Connect26!

Patrick Sheahan, CEO of ImageTrend, kicked off Connect26 with a powerful message on powering the future of emergency response. From rising demand and workforce challenges to disconnected systems and growing data complexity, the industry is at a turning point.

From where the industry is today to where it’s headed, one thing is clear: the future of emergency response will be powered by stronger interoperability, AI-driven workflows, and location intelligence that supports better outcomes for the communities we serve.

Thank you to ImageTrend for hosting a great event and bringing together public safety professionals committed to changing the game.

At the RTM 2026 Spring School Facilities & Safety Congress in Houston, TX, GeoComm’s Larry Warner, Danica Charles, Rose Bentley, and Bill McCullough connected with Deputy Chiefs of Police, Facility Directors, and Operations and Crisis Intervention leaders who are looking for better ways to support real-world response.

The conversations reinforced a clear need: schools need more than static building maps. They need response ready maps and public safety grade location intelligence data that help responders move with clarity and confidence when every second matters.

That’s the work GeoComm is proud to support, turning complex facilities into actionable information for safer schools and stronger emergency response.

Thank you to everyone who connected with our team.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and GeoComm recognizes the critical role telecommunicators and dispatchers play in public safety.

Every day, the people behind the headset answer calls during someone else’s worst moment. They listen, guide, coordinate, and support responders — often while carrying the emotional weight of what they hear.

Mental health support for dispatchers and telecommunicators is not optional. It is essential to building resilient emergency communications centers, supporting long-term careers, and caring for the people who help care for our communities.

This month, we encourage ECC leaders, teammates, and public safety partners to check in, reduce stigma, and make sure resources are visible and accessible. Support can include peer support programs, wellness training, employee assistance programs, critical incident stress resources, and national crisis support.

To every dispatcher and telecommunicator: your work matters, your wellbeing matters, and you are not alone.

2,250 emergency calls per school year.

In those moments, the challenge isn’t just answering the call, it's turning limited information into actionable clarity. School emergencies often start with partial information: a distressed caller, an unfamiliar building, a vague description of where the incident is happening.

When locations are unclear and details are missing, responders lose time trying to orient themselves instead of taking action. Confident response happens when that uncertainty is removed, when responders know exactly where to go and what they’re walking into, the moment the call comes in.
