This is a portrait of a fountain that I made without looking at a reference. Usually I use references, which gives me the ability to make my art a lot more realistic. I made this because I saw a huge beautiful peaceful fountain one night right as I was about to fall asleep. It was a night of questioning my worth and I couldn't stop crying, until I got out of bed and read some scripture and simply cried out to Jesus. After I prayed, talked to Him, I was able to calm down and fall aleep, peacefully. I saw a fountain before falling asleep and I felt the peace. I just knew I had to try to portray it in a way that was my own and not influenced by anything I could find to look at.
I made the fountain overflowing because Psalm 23 says
You annoint my head with oil, my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
The fountain I saw had no sun around it, but it was illuminated with light, which I have read 2 versus I've never read or absorbed before to confirm this
what I saw.
Psalm 36 says
How precious is your loving kindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, and your give then drink from the river of your pleasures. God with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light. Oh, continue your lovinglindness to those who know you, and Your righteousness to the upright in heart. Let not the foot of pride come agaisnt me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
Revelations 21 says
And God will wipe every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, not sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. Then He who sat on the throne said, "Behold, I make all things new." And He said to me "Write, for these words are true and faithful. And he said to me "It is done!" I am the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
And if you read the rest of Revelation, it describes a great city, holy Jerusalem that the walls and streets are made from pure gold. And the city has no sun for the glory of God illuminates it.
I made the ground of this picture gold before reading about the city in Revelation...
So this is my story and I hope this brings other artists to come forth and share what God is trying to use them for.
If all things should be done for the glory of God, why not the very gift he has blessed us with?
