If you're managing shift workers in Southern California, July 1 brings another round of minimum wage increases. Here are a few notable changes:
• Los Angeles, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, and San Diego all see increases
• Hotel workers in LA hit $25/hour
• Healthcare workers under SB 525 step up again
And under the 2024 PAGA reform, it's not enough to pay the right rate — you have to be able to prove you paid the right rate. Not only is this a lot to track manually across a frontline workforce, but inaccurate time tracking multiplies the compliance risk on top of all the incoming changes.
