In a recent article about urban heat islands, David Hondula, director of the Office of Heat Response and Mitigation for the city of Phoenix, says: “Heat is not an isolated problem for anyone. We need to be taking steps today because the city of 30 or 40 years in the future is largely going to be shaped by the decisions we make over the next five to 10 years.” 🌍

From passive design, water features, shade and greenery to microclimate analysis technology, these tools will help designers keep our cities cool and prepare them for a hotter future 🔮

Our new tool gives developers and architects a unique opportunity to make real-time analyzes of buildings' energy consumption already in the idea phase 💡

On today, we're proud to launch our rapid operational energy analysis in beta 💡

This visual, easy-to-use tool allows designers to easily and accurately assess the impact of design decisions on the potential operational energy of their buildings, helping and design with energy efficiency in mind from day one. It forms part of Spacemaker’s real-time analyses including microclimate, solar panel, sun, natural light, wind, views and noise, which equip design teams with the insights needed for more sustainable outcomes, in order to create better buildings and better cities 🚀
