Happy Wednesday! 👍🏻 Do you know your WHY in development? Let me explain…⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In everything we do we alway must have a purpose in starting it. In development it’s really important to know this. You have heard the term “if you are in this for the money, quit now and find something you’re passionate about.” And I can’t agree with this more. A lot of people are getting into development because of the money, they see or hear of people working for FAANG companies making an insane amount of money here in Silicon Valley. While this is true, for most of us, it won’t work out that way.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You have to realize everyone’s path is different. Some people want to work for FAANG companies, some people want to work for startups to build new cool technologies, some people want to teach development, and some people want to build a freelancing empire.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Whatever path you chose in development, it’s important to know WHY you want to do this. If you don’t find your WHY, you won’t last long. You can go through the motions, learn a bunch of languages, code for a few years only to find out that you are left unfulfilled.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For me, my WHY for starting development, meant that I get to work on great technologies, build cool things like apps and webpages, and also network with a great community. I also want to eventually get away from this “9-5” grind and freelance full time. The most important thing as well, is that I’m enjoying the process each and every step.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So I ask you, what is your WHY? Let me know! 👍🏻⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
