This position pays between $70 and $85 per hour.
FPGA Engineer | 3-month Contract
This role is expected to:
- Test and simulate code behavior.
- Synthesis work.
- System Integration and Debugging - collaborate with embedded software and hardware engineers to integrate FPGA designs, with custom circuit boards and external components, PCB layout, and systems engineering teams for validation and testing.
- Bring up prototypes using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other laboratory equipment.
- Document FPGA architectures, interfaces, design decisions, test procedures, and verification results.
- Design, develop, verify, program, test, and integrate FPGA-based digital system with custom digital logic circuits on reconfigurable semiconductor chips.
- Work to be done in a Vivado environment (Vivado Design Suite).
- Participate in design reviews and collaborate with systems, hardware, software, and test engineers.
- Support production releases, troubleshooting, and maintenance of deployed FPGA designs.
- BSEE or relevant degree
- 8-20+ Years experience required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware/firmware issues systematically.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Timing analysis and closure, UVM, and board verification understanding.
- Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.
- Comfortable working through the complete FPGA development lifecycle, from architecture through hardware validation.
- May be some scripting with Python or Tcl.
- VHDL coding.
- Use Xilinx Chips.
