New Poll:
Around the world, plug-in solar (often called "balcony solar”) is rapidly gaining momentum. Germany has become the global leader, with millions of systems already in use, while other European countries have adopted regulations allowing these simple plug-in systems. Here in the U.S., eight states have already passed legislation, and more than 30 others are considering it. States are becoming more comfortable with distributed, customer-owned energy generation and decentralized energy, which is very much aligned with the broader vision of intelligent infrastructure that we are creating at Solar Roadways.
As these regulations evolve, they also open the door to simpler, more user-friendly energy solutions. A small certified plug-and-play system could make installation much easier for customers, helping more people generate clean electricity where they live, even potentially for renters who could move a few panels with them.
We could create a simple plug-and-play system to take advantage of this new opportunity. Before seriously considering it, we’d like to hear your thoughts:
Question 1
Do you think we should create and offer a simple plug-and-play system?
Yes
No
Question 2
If yes to Question 1, we’d also like to know how many panels you would like to see in such a system (each panel is approximately 50 watts and would still have the intelligence, LEDs and heating ability):
1-3
4-7
7- 10
10+
Question 3
If yes to Question 1, where would you most want to install a small plug and play system (keep in mind that a few panels in one location could have more panels added later):
Balcony or Deck
Patio
Near Entry Doors
Top of Driveway
Walkway
