Before we ask customers to trust their most demanding workloads to agentic AI, we put it to work in our own operations first.

At our Norman, Oklahoma facility, AI now drafts responses to customer proposals automatically, cutting response time to customers by 26%. On the shop floor, a “Real-Time Work Navigator” uses AI to catch and correct work errors as they happen, cutting new-hire training time by 80%.

That track record just earned Norman a spot on the World Economic Forum’s Global Lighthouse Network, marking the second Hitachi site to receive the honor. Now we’re bringing what we learned to customers around the world.

So far, the AI data center conversation has revolved around compute power. That’s why it’s drawn so much attention and capital.

But if you’re looking to scale AI over the longterm, GPU capacity, accelerator roadmaps, and ever-larger models will only get you so far, according to Senior Vice President, Business Strategy, Simon Ninan.

That’s because a more foundational challenge is coming into sharp focus, Simon says: data storage.

“The effectiveness of AI depends heavily on the data pipeline feeding it, and that pipeline begins with storage,” Simon writes for Data Centre Review.
