Received my copy of “Water’s Edge: The Art of Truman Lowe” last week, a new book I designed in collaboration with Smithsonian Books and the National Museum of the American Indian.

It accompanies an exhibition by the same name set to open this year, and is the first major retrospective of the acclaimed Hoocąk (Ho-Chunk) artist. Lowe’s elegant, minimalist sculptures made of willow branches, feathers, and other organic materials evoke the rivers, streams, and waterfalls of the Wisconsin woodlands where he was raised and the canoes used to traverse them.

Always the deepest gratitude for opportunities like this that allow me to present the outstanding work of rockstar artists in a rich and meaningful way. 🙏🏽⚡️

Congratulations to artist Marwin Begaye [] on the opening of his solo exhibition featuring new works at the Wheelwright Museum in Santa Fe.

“Visualizing K’é” presents fifteen drawings and prints by master printmaker and professor Marwin Begaye (Diné, b. 1970). Reconnecting with historic voice recordings from the Wheelwright Museum’s permanent collection, Begaye created a series of abstract works in 2024 and 2025, which visualize the Diné philosophy and practice of maintaining kinship (k’é). Begaye’s work draws on Diné aesthetics, reflecting on questions of identity, storytelling, and language to explore how ancestral knowledge can be encoded in different cultural forms over time.

Many thanks to for the opportunity to collaborate on the exhibition and publication design. If you are in or near the Santa Fe area, definitely plan a visit to see this spectacular body of work in person!

Beautiful installation photography showing two exceptional new exhibitions that I had the privilege of collaborating on, currently on view at the Denver Art Museum.

Lunar Phases: Korean Moon Jars is in collaboration with the National Museum of Korea, inviting visitors to experience the breadth and beauty of Korea’s art and culture.

Confluence of Nature: Nancy Hemenway Barton features works by artist Nancy Hemenway Barton, an exploration of the stunning locations from around the world that informed and inspired her artistic process.

If you happen to be in the Denver area, I encourage you to check out these and other amazing shows on view at this world class museum.

Kevin Coochwytewa Design for First Americans Museum (FAM) in Oklahoma City. This new graphic wall exhibit was installed earlier this month as an important educational experience for FAM’s visitors to learn about the 39 tribal nations who call what is now Oklahoma, home. A huge majority of these tribes were forcefully removed from their original homelands in part by the Indian Removal Act of 1830 by the U.S. government. Maps show where these people were moved from, and where their reservation boundaries now lie. Each panel shares a welcome greeting in their various native languages and shows how many of the tribes are connected through language, kinship, and cultural ties.

I am always honored when presented with opportunities to design and create for the greater good, while also being educated throughout the process. It’s super important to know the true history of this colorful country. YOU ARE ON NATIVE LAND. 🪶🪶🪶🪶

Fun packaging project I worked on last year with for their Gold Label Collection of wool blankets. These products are manufactured exclusively in Eighth Generation’s Seattle studio. The company wanted the boxes to capture the essence and beauty of the Pacific Northwest. The design features a landscape photo I took at one of my all time favorite spots in Washington, Deception Pass Stare Park. 💚🌲

2024 has brought some exceptional opportunities for book design and this is one that I hold close to my heart. Organized by the Fralin Museum of Art and the Minneapolis Institute of Art, “O’ Powa O’ Meng: The Art and Legacy of Jody Folwell” is an exhibition catalog showcasing iconic works from Folwell’s groundbreaking career.

Jody Folwell is an icon in the contemporary Pueblo pottery world and I am blessed to call her a dear friend. Fun fact: Jody gifted me one of her amazing pots over a decade ago, and it was selected to be part of the traveling exhibition and is also featured in this book!

Huge thanks to Adriana Greci Greene, Jill Ahlberg Yohe, and Bruce Bernstein for inviting me to be a part of the project team. ⚡️

Earlier this year I had the privilege of working with the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) to design a 272-page exhibition catalogue titled, “Sublime Light: Tapestry Art of DY Begay.” The book and exhibit, currently on view in Washington, DC, celebrates more than three decades of innovation by my friend, distinguished Diné fiber artist DY Begay.

A fifth-generation weaver, DY Begay’s transformative tapestries reflect her family tradition, her Diné identity, and the natural beauty of the Navajo reservation where she grew up. The first book devoted to Begay’s career, “Sublime Light” reveals the evolution of her work with 80 gorgeous tapestries created between 1965 and 2022.

It was a huge honor all around! ⚡️
