Despite personal preferences, it is undeniable that MX Linux is currently leading the Linux distribution race, experiencing significant growth in the Linux world. While MX Linux is becoming a game changer, I must mention that, being a big fan of the GNOME interface, the new Debian version remains my top choice for a Linux distribution.

Since its latest release, I have become a daily user of Fedora Linux, and I must admit that this operating system has won me over for the long haul. Fedora offers one of the most pristine and current experiences of the GNOME desktop environment, surpassing even the GNOME OS development snapshot that is exclusively available within virtual machines.

From the moment you install Fedora, you are greeted with a user-friendly welcome screen that provides a straightforward introduction to the UI fundamentals, gestures, and shortcuts. This attention to detail sets it apart from its competitors. Moreover, Fedora excels in delivering cutting-edge open-source software as the default choice, surpassing most other distributions in this aspect.

Notably, Fedora stands out as the first major distribution to adopt Btrfs as the default file system, replacing ext4. It also pioneered the transition from X11 to Wayland and from PulseAudio to PipeWire. Such innovative choices reflect its reliability and have garnered support from IBM, which sponsors its development.

Overall, my experience with Fedora Linux has been outstanding, and I am confident that it will remain my operating system of choice for years to come.

Recently, Deepin, Rocky, and Tails made exciting announcements about their latest releases. With a strong focus on enhancing user experience, Deepin 23 beta introduces a plethora of new features. These include significant changes to its Deepin Desktop Environment (DDE), improvements to the terminal, cross-version upgrades, and enhancements to application compatibility.

Rocky Linux, on the other hand, not only introduces a Python upgrade but also comes with an array of new features. One notable improvement is the removal of /etc/lvm/devices/system.devices in LVM cloud image variants. This change resolves issues related to PV/VG/LVs during the image installation, which were previously hardcoded to a specific device.

In the case of Tails, the latest release (Tails 5.13) brings several new tools to the distribution. One notable addition is the cURL downloading program, which is configured to run over the Tor network by default. This enhances the security and privacy of file transfers within the Tails operating system.
