Business has always been political.

Every decision a business makes, who it supports, how it sources, how it treats people, what it stands for (or stays silent on), communicates something.

May Day 2026 has been designated as a National Economic Day of Action, a day centered around workers, community, economic justice, and protecting democracy. In recognition of that, we will be stepping away from work and refraining from spending for the day as our way of making space for reflection and standing by what we believe.

Roll the Bones came to us with a big idea. They were bringing a new game store to Savannah. One with enough room for private game play and tournaments, something that was missing from the local gaming community.

The owner had a vision, and we were thrilled to help them bring it to life.

First, we built out the visual identity: the logos, mascots, fonts, illustrations, etc. Then, we set out to transform the retail space into something more.

The storefront graphics are designed to strategically hide and reveal the inside of the store. The large private gaming room is hidden away behind a castle, but retail products are visible beyond a low brick wall.

There are little surprises hidden throughout the inside of the store, too. Little doorways here, mascots running away with snacks there. Everywhere you look, you’re reminded of where you are, even if there’s not a logo in sight.

That’s the power of a cohesive brand.

In case you missed our other posts, we don’t use AI in our creative process 🌊🐢

And no, it’s not because we’re stuck in the past. It’s because we care too much about what we create and who it impacts.

At Olive Ridley Studios, we believe your brand deserves more than something scraped, remixed, and generated in seconds.

It deserves intention.
It deserves originality.
It deserves a human touch.

AI-generated artwork raises a lot of questions we’re not comfortable ignoring: Who made this, really? Who owns it? (Hint: it’s not you) And whose work was quietly used to train it?

That doesn’t sit right with us.

But it goes even deeper than that.

AI isn’t invisible. It runs on massive data centers that consume huge amounts of energy and water. And as a company that cares about sustainability, that matters to us. We’re not here to contribute to more waste, digital or physical.

We believe in paying creatives for their work. We believe in building brands rooted in real stories, not recycled data.
We believe in sustainable, conscientious business practices.
And we believe the magic is in the details, those small, thoughtful decisions that AI just can’t replicate (no matter how polished it looks).

Great branding isn’t just about making something look good. It’s about making something feel right.
