Traffic control and cable placement go hand in hand on active roadways.

Before any cable is placed, the work zone has to be properly set – lane closures, cone patterns, and clear crew positioning. Once secured, placement moves step by step alongside live traffic.

It’s a coordinated process: managing flow, maintaining safety, and controlling cable handling throughout the pull. From setup to final placement, every movement matters.

This is what it takes to keep projects moving without disrupting the environment around them.

Splicing might not look like the biggest part of the job, but it’s one of the most important.

Here the crew couldn’t park equipment right in front of the house, so they set up a small workstation and worked off a table instead. Not the easiest setup, but the work still has to be done right.

That means taking time with fiber prep, handling it carefully, and making sure everything is clean before the splice.

It’s the kind of work you only notice when it’s done wrong – so we focus on getting it right the first time.

Ex*****on starts with what’s underground.

Not everything below the surface can be clearly defined from initial plans.
Field conditions, existing infrastructure, and subsurface variability all impact how accurately utilities can be located.

When conditions limit certainty, the approach has to change.
Our teams rely on utility locating, field verification, and continuous assessment to define safe paths before drilling begins.

If required, the route is adjusted to maintain proper clearances and avoid unnecessary risk.
In underground construction, accuracy isn’t assumed – it’s confirmed.

Fiber performance is determined long before activation.

In aerial builds, make-ready defines pole loading, clearances, and placement conditions. During installation, controlling sag, tension, and bend radius is critical – improper handling can lead to microbending and long-term signal loss.

Splicing sets the performance baseline. Precision, cleanliness, and alignment directly impact splice loss, while final testing – OTDR and end-to-end measurements – confirms the network meets design.

Most issues don’t show at turn-up. They appear later as degradation and avoidable maintenance.

At Techcom LLC, field ex*****on defines the outcome.

We’re growing and looking for experienced professionals to support active fiber deployments.
