Business owners, side-hustlers, ambitious women. We spend so much energy chasing the next milestone that sometimes we forget to appreciate what’s already in our hands. 🫶

Sheryl Crow said it too. “It’s not having what you want. It’s wanting what you’ve got.”

Happiness isn’t waiting for you at the other side of your next accomplishment. And, even if we take the time to pause and celebrate our wins, it’s not long before we’re off chasing the next thing. Happiness exists in the present — the ordinary moments you might be rushing through.

Stop measuring your life against what you don’t yet have. Start focusing on what you already have. Contentment lies in all the things you wanted, got, and then somewhere along the line forgot to be grateful for. Take a moment to be grateful today. 💛

Maybe you don’t have your dream job (or your dream income), but you do have an amazing partner or wonderful group of friends. Maybe your love life hasn’t played out how you imagined, but you’ve given a warm home to a cute pet or worked hard to earn a degree or landed that promotion you really wanted.

Too often we focus on what we’re lacking (or worse, compare ourselves to others), but the reality is wherever you are lacking, there’s another area where you’re thriving! Give yourself credit and thanks for that. 🙌

It’s great to have goals — and we have plenty ourselves — but don’t forget to love and appreciate all the amazing things going your way! 💫

"I totally get what you're saying."

I genuinely can't count the number of times I've been explaining an idea to Julia Giordano that feels completely scattered in my own head. I'm talking in circles, jumping from one thought to another, and wondering if any of it makes sense.

She'll smile, nod, and say, "I totally get what you're saying."

And then she'll take those scattered thoughts, organize them, build on them, add her own creative perspective, and bring the idea to life in a way that's so much better than I could have imagined.

That's Julia's superpower.

Today, we're celebrating Julia's third workiversary as Hummingbird Marketing Services' Marketing Manager, Content & Social Media. 💜

For the past three years, Julia has helped our clients and our team find clarity. Whether she's writing website content, managing social media, or developing content strategies, she has an incredible ability to understand what people are trying to say, even when they aren't quite sure how to say it themselves.

She also has a knack for asking the one question no one else thinks to ask — the one that changes the entire conversation.

Over the past year, Julia has helped transform the way we approach social media, shifting our focus from simply posting more to posting with purpose. Her curiosity, creativity, and passion for learning have made our work stronger, our strategies smarter, and our results better.

Beyond her incredible talent, Julia is thoughtful, empathetic, funny, warm, loyal, and a truly gifted writer. She dreams of writing a novel someday, and I'll happily be first in line for a signed copy.

She's also my longest-tenured employee, which somehow feels impossible because it also feels like she's always been here. I truly can't imagine The Charm without her.

Three years ago, Hummingbird gained an exceptional writer. What I didn't realize was that we were also gaining someone who would help shape the way we think, communicate, collaborate, and tell stories.
